Are you claiming that four million gallons--which IS what they said--is anything more than a drop in the bucket when you compare that to the Gulf of Mexico? I based my statement on what they said at the time. I had no way of knowing whether it was true or not and never claimed that what they were saying was true. I said IF she was talking about four million gallons a day...and taking my statement in context it was true then and it is still true now. Among libertarian types, "leadership" is exactly what we don't get. Because everyone is so independent, there's never any consensus getting behind someone. Ron Paul isn't good enough, Rand isn't either now. I'm sure Peter Schiff will have defects that will turn people off too. Socialists, on the other hand, are in the practice of conforming so they get their man and we lose.
The average Libertarian gets far fewer % votes than R's usually get in K. L's shouldn't be a problem for Rand even if they do run someone.
A major problem is the pluralistic and highly antiquated "vote for one" voting system. By it's nature, it elects the candidate with the biggest minority backing instead of someone that's most preferred by a majority. Switching to Approval voting would be a big improvement.
I was referring to his endorsement of military tribunals and hawkish stance toward Afghanistan. But perhaps he's got enough Constitutional backbone so he wouldn't do much damage with those ideas. I'd still vote for him, of course. Far better than the alternative. But yes, Ron's much quicker on his feet. He's had more practice.

Even when a man pretends to support such an obvious and murderous fraud it's likely he will pretend you're free, that you have rights and is likely willing to compromise you like he's compromised himself. We are engaged in an internal war for survival in this country, as Kruschev predicted. Thanks. I personally believe that someone that is like-minded and seeks office would win, if he or she stopped worrying about offending people and spoke their minds with no holds barred. Someone with a "take it or leave it" unapologetic attitude. Think of the free publicity! The other candidate would not be able to get a word in edgewise. People hate congress. IMO it is because they are being pandered to, and people are getting sick of it. Conventional wisdom is that people don't want the truth. I think that is a lie. IMO the polls show this to be a lie. .
