Can anybody stand to listen to Bush sing for the bots this evening? He'll be on at 7:30. If nobody wants to listen in I will understand.

Hey we're pals. What are friends for? For about 20 minutes, we'll hear that crap, and how we'll have to come together as a nation, how he's responsible and how he'll make America work and whatever. Meanwhile, on OUR planet, taxes continue to go up on the working class, Property Taxes go up to cover the cost of illegals. Wages are going down, in order to get people to quit banking on the American Dream. Jobs are being shipped overseas at a record pace, and the best part, Gasoline prices are going down, but not down to where they could be.

I bet he tries to say the failings of his adminstration and his party are mostly society's fault. I've seen this talking point coming out of the bots more and more often as of late: "Hey, sure things are messed up, but it's everone's fault and we all need to pull together now." It's like they've given up on dodging the blame and the new goal is just to spread the blame as widely as possible.

It's what I call "The Chernobyl Effect". In Russia, when Chernobyl melted down, and all that radioactive shit went everywhere, instead of destroying the contaminated food, they shipped it everywhere in Russia spreading it evenly across the country. That way, it didn't look like an isolated outbreak of birth defects.

I hope it doesn't help Bush either. Watch the spin that's been coming out lately however. A lot of it makes the following unsupported statement: "Sure we're in terrible shape, but most of it is the fault of Clinton/the liberals/the Democrats." It's as if they know Bush is going to hemmorage and they know that nothing can be done. It's as if the only hope the party has for crawling out of the crater is to mitigate the blame by roping in as many other parties as possible. "Sure, Bush is as fault, but so is everbody else (so you can't really blame Bush or the Republicans)."

Bush has almost six years in office, both the Senate and Congress on his side and a propaganda machine behind him that would be the envy of Hitler or Stalin. It's going to be really hard to blame Clinton for the explosion. I think the RNC is now looking for ways to take the heat off the party.

That would work, but I don't see anyone pushing Bush and Rove into that admission of defeat. I see Bush, Rove and Cheney taking the country down in order to mask their mistakes, e.g., start a nuclear war in Iran to obfuscate the defeat in Iraq and the failure in the economy. These guys and their friends don't have to live with the consequences. They can move to Monaco and live out their years in comfort.

I just heard that Bush is planning to spend over 300 billion dollars to rebuild New Orleans. Supposedly this is what he is going to announce tonight. This is more than was spent on Iraq, Afghanistan and the war on terror combined.

If this 300 billion figure is true, then it's the largest reconstruction project in the history of the world. Percentage wise, it is on par with the New Deal programs of the 1930s. It sounds like Bush is (1) trying to buy votes, and (2) trying to keep the contruction industry alive through the housing crash. I am pretty sure the figure is correct. It comes from a reliable source.
