Can anybody stand to listen to Bush sing for the bots this evening? He'll be on at 7:30. If nobody wants to listen in I will understand.

Bush has almost six years in office, both the Senate and Congress on his side and a propaganda machine behind him that would be the envy of Hitler or Stalin.

It's going to be really hard to blame Clinton for the explosion. I think the RNC is now looking for ways to take the heat off the party.

But it's just not true that nothing can be done. Cheney could resign, to be replaced as VP by Giuliani or McCain. Then Bush could resign in six months.

That would work, but I don't see anyone pushing Bush and Rove into that admission of defeat. I see Bush, Rove and Cheney taking the country down in order to mask their mistakes, e.g., start a nuclear war in Iran to obfuscate the defeat in Iraq and the failure in the economy. These guys and their friends don't have to live with the consequences. They can move to Monaco and live out their years in comfort.

Watch the spin that's been coming out lately however.

For entertainment purposes, I think I'm going to watch the Faux Knooos post address coverage.

Should be good for a chuckle or two.

See aristiedies post #10 above. We might actually see something like this happen. It certainly would be a good thing for the country. But somehow I don't see Bush and Rove going quietly.

I just heard that Bush is planning to spend over 300 billion dollars to rebuild New Orleans. Supposedly this is what he is going to announce tonight. This is more than was spent on Iraq, Afghanistan and the war on terror combined.

crack monkey  posted on  2005-09-15   20:43:14 ET  Reply   Trace   Private Reply

#20. To: Zipporah (#17)

If this 300 billion figure is true, then it's the largest reconstruction project in the history of the world. Percentage wise, it is on par with the New Deal programs of the 1930s. It sounds like Bush is (1) trying to buy votes, and (2) trying to keep the contruction industry alive through the housing crash.

I am pretty sure the figure is correct. It comes from a reliable source.

Where the hell is the money going to come from?

That's $1,000 from every man, woman and child in the country.

It's about $750,000 for every boog bumped from the projects by the hurricane.

It's a complete budget buster. He won't raise taxes, and he probably can't. The sudden bite needed to fund this would be widely felt and deadly. I think he'll just sell out the economy.

It would be a lot cheaper to just give every displaced hurricane survivor $350,000 to start over.

WHAT IN THE FUCK????

Okay, here's the break down. Bush has spent a TRILLION dollars on destruction, and reconstruction projects AROUND THE FUCKING WORLD.

Afghanistan, Iran, The Big Tsunami, 9-11, And now Katrina.

That's a TRILLION FUCKING DOLLARS THAT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE GOING TO HAVE TO PAY.

A TRILLION DOLLARS.

That's not even counting the Trillion or so dollars we've given to Israel.

So many morons, so few bullets.
