Hey we're pals. What are friends for?

For about 20 minutes, we'll hear that crap, and how we'll have to come together as a nation, how he's responsible and how he'll make America work and whatever.

Meanwhile, on OUR planet, taxes continue to go up on the working class, Property Taxes go up to cover the cost of illegals. Wages are going down, in order to get people to quit banking on the American Dream. Jobs are being shipped overseas at a record pace, and the best part, Gasoline prices are going down, but not down to where they could be.

So many morons, so few bullets.

I bet he tries to say the failings of his adminstration and his party are mostly society's fault. I've seen this talking point coming out of the bots more and more often as of late: "Hey, sure things are messed up, but it's everone's fault and we all need to pull together now."

It's like they've given up on dodging the blame and the new goal is just to spread the blame as widely as possible.

It's what I call "The Chernobyl Effect".

In Russia, when Chernobyl melted down, and all that radioactive shit went everywhere, instead of destroying the contaminated food, they shipped it everywhere in Russia spreading it evenly across the country.

That way, it didn't look like an isolated outbreak of birth defects.

I hope it doesn't help Bush either.

Watch the spin that's been coming out lately however. A lot of it makes the following unsupported statement: "Sure we're in terrible shape, but most of it is the fault of Clinton/the liberals/the Democrats." It's as if they know Bush is going to hemmorage and they know that nothing can be done.

It's as if the only hope the party has for crawling out of the crater is to mitigate the blame by roping in as many other parties as possible.

"Sure, Bush is as fault, but so is everbody else (so you can't really blame Bush or the Republicans)."

But it's just not true that nothing can be done. Cheney could resign, to be replaced as VP by Giuliani or McCain. Then Bush could resign in six months.

Bush has almost six years in office, both the Senate and Congress on his side and a propaganda machine behind him that would be the envy of Hitler or Stalin.

It's going to be really hard to blame Clinton for the explosion. I think the RNC is now looking for ways to take the heat off the party.

That would work, but I don't see anyone pushing Bush and Rove into that admission of defeat. I see Bush, Rove and Cheney taking the country down in order to mask their mistakes, e.g., start a nuclear war in Iran to obfuscate the defeat in Iraq and the failure in the economy. These guys and their friends don't have to live with the consequences. They can move to Monaco and live out their years in comfort.

If this 300 billion figure is true, then it's the largest reconstruction project in the history of the world. Percentage wise, it is on par with the New Deal programs of the 1930s. It sounds like Bush is (1) trying to buy votes, and (2) trying to keep the contruction industry alive through the housing crash.

I am pretty sure the figure is correct. It comes from a reliable source.

The government today announced that it is changing its emblem from an Eagle to a CONDOM because it more accurately reflects the government's political stance. Bush has almost six years in office

No, he has almost five years in office.

I like Indian food unless it has curry, which is most of it. I love chicken vindaloo, even though I refuse to eat it more than once or twice a year. I'm funny that way, I like Greek food too, except olives. I like fish unless it tastes fishy. I'm off to buy paper mache so I can build a model of a dichotomy...

I'm really curious to see what the polls show over the next couple of days. If there is no bounce this "Mendoza Line" talk I've been hearing tonight might be true. Below 40% enough people are on to the guy that he can't bullshit his way out of a mess anymore. He becomes powerless and can't recover. Personally, I can't say one way or the other, but it will be very interesting to watch.

I love curry, but I can make myself sick on their bread. I also only venture in a couple of times a year. It's not a treat if you eat it every day.

Maybe the hurricane WAS from God

Could be. God shall not be mocked, what a man sows he shall reap. I suspect the same holds true for nations as well.

He could just hang fire in place. As his influence evaporates his enemies will be better equipped to press their attackes. He could spend the rest of his term defending himself for the actions he took during his first term. The press has already turned against him. Bush has had the longest press honymoon in history and it's over. His propaganda engine is winding down as well. The last I heard Fox News viewership was off 48%. Rush and Hannity were down about 25%.

Some people were saying the hurricane was sent by God for punishment to the people of NO for their sins.. which I'm sorry I think is beyond sick..not the sins of NO but considering the amount of blood thats on the hands of our leaders ..ya just never know...

Assuming 300,000,000 men women and children in the US (good assumption, I think), this means 300X10^9/300^6 = 100,000 dollars per person in the US, or $400,000 bucks per family of four.

Buy stock in Halliburton, and CACI.

The Zionists are going to be out luck for a few months.

My math seems out of wack, but I keep comming up with the same answers, so I am pinging Anxeolith for support as numbers are his game. Crack, if I have mis spelled his name, could you correct?? TIA.

I have always roughly figured one billion dollars ment about $three / capita for the US. So my calculation seem roughly correct.

Where the hell is the money going to come from?

That's $1,000 from every man, woman and child in the country.

Should have just asked you!!!

CORRECTION BY TOM007 - NOT $100,000/captia. Flintlock is correct - $1000.00/captia.

Four thousand dollars for every family of four. Hope everyone budgeted for the the winter natural gas costs of $12/mm btu!! (Last year it was about $4.5)

Thank God for the Bush administration!!!!!!

And add the current and recurring costs of the ill concieved war in Iraq..........................

I'm buying dry cat food now while it's cheap for my retirement plan/

That's not even counting the Trillion or so dollars we've given to Israel.

But that is the trillion God wanted. See, she was a little short this month, ya know with the rent of the universe, and that Black Hole in MS-52, just keeps eating money.

If we can somehow persuade the Democrats that their chances of retaking Congress in '06 rest on their making an issue of term limits, we might end up getting term limits.

And I challenge existing organizations -- churches, Scout troops, or labor union locals to get in touch with their counterparts in Mississippi, Louisiana or Alabama and learn what they can do to help. [Bush said]

For Bush to ask labor unions to help, is like Hitler asking synagogues.

I've already said too much.

Since it's Jackson Square, I imagine a statue of somebody on horseback would be of Andrew Jackson, the commander at the Battle of New Orleans.
