Interesting. But if, as feared, the leak is not at the well head and is at the seafloor, they couldn't cap for containment. Also, how much could that hold? It seems it would fill up pretty quick at the rate of estimated flow.

It would be used not to contain the oil, but to transfer the oil to a boat.

If the leak is not at the well head it wouldn't work of course, but I'm sure some other way would.

Only problem is that would cost money and cut into BP's profits.

Not good for BP.

It's all about BP's bottom line.
