MONROE, Ohio – A six-story-tall statue of Jesus Christ with his arms raised along a highway was struck by lightning in a thunderstorm Monday night and burned to the ground, police said. The "King of Kings" statue, one of southwest Ohio's most familiar landmarks, had stood since 2004 at the evangelical Solid Rock Church along Interstate 75 in Monroe, just north of Cincinnati. The lightning strike set the statue ablaze around 11:15 p.m., Monroe police dispatchers said. The sculpture, 62 feet tall and 40 feet wide at the base, showed Jesus from the torso up and was nicknamed Touchdown Jesus because of the way the arms were raised, similar to a referee signaling a touchdown. It was made of plastic foam and fiberglass over a steel frame, which is all that remained early Tuesday

People who go around putting up statues of what they believe/assume to be what Jesus looked like need to read the ten commandments, especially the first and second one. Yep. This is why the Amish don't allow photographs (real Amish I mean) and their dolls have no faces. Creepy dolls to be certain, kind of horror flick looking. But, as they say, Jesus is the Reason.

Think of a small, cloth material, cotton (or something natural) stuffed doll, with no dye on the linen cloth, so it's kind of an off white-ish. They are dressed in 19th century garb, bonnets and dresses, and they have nothing on their face at all, no eyes, nose, mouth or anything, just blank off-white. Found a quick picture on the internet. I guess there aren't a lot of kids outside of Amish circles clamoring for one of those, eh?
Looks like something out of a horror film. You know that Hel, the Norse goddess of the underworld, had half her face blank? This doll is like Hel doubled.
