He later issued a brief statement on his Congressional website as well, stating “I have seen the video posted on several blogs. I deeply and profoundly regret my reaction and I apologize to all involved. Throughout my many years of service to the people of North Carolina, I have always tried to treat people from all viewpoints with respect. No matter how intrusive and partisan our politics can become, this does not justify a poor response. I have and I will always work to promote a civil public discourse.” Etheridge is an active freemason, and it is interesting to note that in the few days since this assault was publicized worldwide, a wikipedia link acknowledging Etherideg's involvement in masonry has been completely scrapped; although a simple internet search will reveal thousands of pages have already cached the information: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Etheridge "Bob Etheridge is a member of the New Democrat Coalition. He toured the School of Graphic Arts, the infirmary, the baby cottage, and ended his visit with a reception in the chapel.." In a touch of irony, freemason Etheridge is pictured in the photo dressed in a suit standing next to two young schoolboys. Most of the Masons mentioned are the type that would sell their souls to succeed (if power and wealth are success) on this planet. Arlen Sphincter should be their poster boy for What Masonry Can Do For Lackluster Losers and Limp Wristed Wannabes.
