... does anyone else get the sense that something enormous is going to happen here very, very soon to change life for all of us forever? And not in a good way. LOL

I wake up this morning, and granted, not well rested, but I'm skimming through some "news" stuff and op-ed pieces that indicate to me that very few people think that we are in any kind of dire trouble. It's politics as usual with writers bitching about the same exact stuff they were bitching about in the '80s or '90s while suggesting the same "solutions."

I also had some conversations over the weekend with varying people, some of whom I thought should understand at least some basic fundamental stuff in terms of not being snowed by the MSM, yet they seemed clueless.

There's talk in the media, as usual, of this current economic climate for the US being just another road bump (my term) in the "cyclical economic nature" of things. Yet, in looking at our debt, how is it even possible for a nation to recover from something like this? As I see it there is simply no mathematical way to recover w/o unprecedented and perhaps even epochal pain and pervasive if not comprehensive societal upheaval. The states and municipalities are no better off, perhaps worse in most cases.

People are focusing on superficial entertainment related stuff seemingly clueless and/or unphased as to any notion of any looming problems. Oh sure, many people are cutting back on spending and such, but there's little indication that most think that we are in anything but the next normal/routine cycle.

I try to talk to people from time to time, more so recently thinking that perhaps current events have slapped some reason and cognizance into peoples' heads, but I'm met with the looks that no doubt many of y'all are familiar with, looks of "oh come on, you don't really believe all that, do you," or "oh come on, you're not 'one of those' people...," etc. I will ask them, seemingly bright people, questions about why they believe what they believe on "current events" and the like, and all I get is a litany of Douche Lameblow drivel, Faux Snooze or NY Slimes, etc. nonsense.

For example, we're starting to read about how government pensions are being cut and with people and media acting as if these first-line and nominal pension "changes" are the solution. But the fact of the matter is that the budgets of municipalities, states, and the FedGov are still way out of whack. As I see it, none of those pensions will ever get paid for people more than a few years away from retirement. That math simply isn't there to support that they will. Even after these trivial cuts, that many people and media treat as huge, the budgets are still just as much out of whack as they were before them indicative that these "cuts" are merely a drop in the bucket, but few seem to have a clue in that way.

I could go on, but presumably most of you know what I'm talking about.

Anyway, I just feel like I'm living in a Twilight Zone.

but I'm still befuddled as to why/how so many can't see the big picture.

I, too. Maybe it's because self-reliance and individuality have somehow been bred out of so many Americans; they have come to rely on Government for direction, have come to regard it as so complex that one must be educated as a lawyer to hold public office. Americans pay scant attention to Government, thinking that the senators and representatives will take care of them. TV has had an enormous deleterious effect on us, causing us to think we are well- informed people. Thus, the Internet is despised by those whose agenda it exposes.

as another here says "it is too late".

It is too late. The demographics have been intentionally shifted and the country is populated with (I hate to even call them people) things that have no clue to the real history nor the destiny that was once ours.

Cue Rod Sterling, because that's exactly where you've landed. I've been trying for 20 years to get members of my own family to get a clue, without results. That leaves it up to me to store food & supplies for seven adults and a 5-year old just in case the lights go out for a few months. A cyber attack is what freaks me out having been in two major blackouts in NYC and it isn't fun. That said, since we've been treated to this insight there's no turning back. It's sucks, but it is what it is.

No, not really. What I see is the same ol' march towards totalitarianism that I've been seeing all of my life with the same ol' non-caring attitude by the American people. We are the proverbial frogs in the pot of water being slowly brought to a boil. If I see any difference at all it's in the increased rate at which the RP/DP political machine is moving towards their totalitarian goal. It will still be slow enough though that the majority will never know what hit them until it's to late. Even then I can't help but wonder if that same majority will be standing in their government bread lines admiring each others chains.

I run into the same type of people as you do Eric. The majority that I speak with are either clueless and happy to be that way or are brain dead partisans who will back whatever it is their party is doing (ala LP, DU and TPF).

self-reliance and individuality have somehow been bred out of so many Americans;

I disagree that it has been bred out. These qualities are within each person, but the price to recognize them is to take responsibility. It has been crushed by design. You cannot have a nation of sheep if people are self relient and self aware. Government has intruded into every aspect of the American life. The same groups that push for more governement and buy legislation also keep the sheeple distracted ad nauseum and in a constant state of fear. People cannot grow and remain in a state of fear at the same time. In a state of fear, people seek protection in lieu of self determination.

Only in America can the government kill women and children as they did at Waco and Ruby Ridge and the American people accept MORE government as a solution.

Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country. ... i'm pretty fortunate to live in Austin where there's a large community of folks who get it. it's curious too. i meet people in various situations with whom i strike up a conversation and it's amazing how often it will be someone who is informed/likeminded. it's almost as if our spirits are drawn to one another. it probably gives me a bit of a skewed perspective of the numbers who are actually waking up.

still, i agree with you about living in the Twilight Zone. every morning when i awake i can't believe how bad things have gotten. i can't predict at all what my future is in terms of security and that's disturbing to put it mildly.

i think that people who view themselves as 'in the know' about the nwo tend to have an apocalyptic view of things. like an impending sense of doom. yeah, we have 3 more months, or 6 more months, before everything falls apart and we are in bread lines, or fema camps. complete bullshit. we all here will be posting in 5, 10, & probably 30 years watching & complaining about the horrid state of our 'republic. the specific timelines & date predictions are the most comical for me. i understand the sense of 'impending doom', but people need to get a grip.

alex jones new film fall of the republic, i watched part of it for the first time last week. its free on youtube, and part 9 is particularly great. it has allen watt and covers societal issues, such as mesmerization with sports, as a vehicle to essentially castrate mans true nature of caring about important things. highly recommended.

Agreed. But most grow out of it over time. Those that don't, listen to alex jones for their daily dose of panic-inducing "WOLF!" . ;)

But can it last that much longer? I know how silly it is to make up timelines etc. because I used to do that. But that does not make invalid the belief that things can't go on much longer. I see a compromise between the extremes that is valid.

I'm not aware of any good news out there. It's all bad. And it's been that way for years now. Sooner or later a tipping point will be reached, imo. I just know it will happen when it happens, and not on my schedule.

Yes, but the disinfo machine sure has been effective. To this day, 80% of the people in this nation get their "news" from the MSM without ever asking what they are missing or what isn't covered or how biased a story is. Nope, the conditioning is so complete that these people report their sources are "independent" and trustworthy.

I willl catch the rest later.

We've been living In the Twilight Zone aka Virtual Reality for the last 100 years. The totalitarian tiptoe has just speeded up over the last twenty years or so, causing many of us to wake up and notice how odd reality has become.

So many people want things to go back to the way they were. I'm not saying you are among them. They wish to go back to the twilight zone and sleep a little longer.

"... does anyone else get the sense that something enormous is going to happen here very, very soon to change life for all of us forever? And not in a good way. LOL"

Reality demands a major shift in our way of thinking and living. We can thumb our noses at TPTB, laugh at and ignore their megolomania, and get on with our lives.

They are prepared for every response from us except ridicule.

How about some major street parties at their G20 summits? Laugh-Ins at BO'S ADDRESS'es and speeches?
