ITS RAINING OIL IN NEW ORLEANS, LA.

It's raining oil in New Orleans, La.. Just a few days ago, it was raining oil in Central Texas. You haven't seen anything yet. The damage that is forthcoming from Tropical storms and Hurricanes is going stagger you. Take a good look at EVERYTHING that was covered with OIL that was falling with the rain in Louisiana. Imagine what it is going to look like after a big storm? And then... out come the Sun... and then a match is lite or lightnings strike? Imagine the smell and having to breathe the fumes. Good grief!!

It is most likely a light with less density than water, which is why it was pulled out of the ocean with the water. Napththa comes to mind.

By the way, tar balls washed into the Dania Beach canal today in Broward, Florida

I used to cross that canal in my 4WD Blazer at low tide and play on the beach.

That's where I learned the hard way how to drive through high water without stalling.

I also learned that if it stalls and the exhaust pipe is under water it won't start. Fortunately, an experienced off roader in a 1948 Willys wagon pulled me out and told me what I did wrong....

I always thought that was a fairly deep canal. It's 12 feet deep by our marina around noon. How did you get through it?!

Crossing at a narrow point during low tide some 36 years ago. It may not be possible now.

I looked at the satellite photo and I realize that what I crossed was a tiny tidal ditch, not the canal. There's a bridge over the canal, and the beach around Lloyd State Park wasn't so built up back in 1974.
