Drug Cartel Threatens To Kill Arizona Cops

A Mexican drug cartel has issued an ominous death threat against police officers in Nogales, AZ who seize their illicit product as reported by Sean Alfano for the Daily News:

Police Chief Jeffrey Kirkham said his officers received threats a couple weeks ago after off-duty police busted a pot smuggling ring. * * * Just which cartel made the threat remains unclear. Violent warnings toward American police are not new, but the Nogales incident marked the first time U.S. officials confirmed a threat.

The Sinaloa cartel controls the smuggling routes along the Arizona-Sonora border, and in early 2009 its boss Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman "ordered his traffickers to use deadly force to protect loads passing through U.S. territory" as reported by Jonathan Clark for Nogales International.  Meanwhile, the Mexican drug trafficking organizations have established permanent base camps "in strategic locations in the hills of southern Arizona from which their scouts can monitor every move made by law enforcement officials" as reported by Adam Housley for FOX News. Earlier this month federal authorities closed U.S. park land in three Arizona counties along the Mexico border because it is no longer safe after the American territory was taken over by the violent drug cartels.

Why not call their bluff?

Mexican puppet Calderon postures and makes noise about the u.s. demand for illegal drugs causing all his problem's with the drug cartel so let's call his bluff AND the drug cartel's as well.

The linkage between the CIA and the "Mexican" drug lords is at least one of active collaboration or "co-opetition", which is why no one but Dr Paul will suggest this, now that W.F. Buckley is no longer with us to champion his late-life epiphany about the futility and destructiveness of drug prohibition.

Imagine the money freed up by legalizing all drugs, with the worst, such as crack, being available through more controlled channels (analogous to state liquor stores in the short term) but still cheaper than the street! Eventually, the use of the worst drugs would yield to the market pressure of cheaper, higher-quality, easily available, less-destructive drugs.

The totalitarian agenda would use one of its weapons in blurring the distinction between common law and legislative fiat, corporate prisons would lose revenue, the military would lose more fine killers who, convicted of drug offenses had nowhere to get work but to join the military gang, a large chunk of LEO's at all levels would be unemployed sure, but they could all find better homes in the corporate sector, serving in Xe and such. But look at all the money freed up to spend on Empire! We could build-and-simultaneously-destroy the corporate empire at an even faster rate than is happening now!

The border-crossing and flow of illegal immigrants would slow down by a significant fraction, as the money to fund the drug mules, lookouts and hit squads would dry up.

There would be fewer arms supplied by the Mexican drug cartels (courtesy ultimately of the CIA etc) and thus, when the next police action against Mexico is taken up by the sovereign citizens of the u.s., it would take only 2 days to clean up the mess instead of 3, saving lives on both sides!

Call the liar's bluff!

Legalize drugs, and sell the idea to the lawyers that it would EXPAND their job opportunities, at least in the short term, and the lawyers could represent that they are libertarians now! fighting the Man! going against the establishment's resistance to dismantling all the drug-related legislation and working on the huge backlog of drug cases, including amnesty for all victims of government oppression. Sue the bankrupt government on the behalf of clients (what a concept!) and get higher direct commissions of fiat money than even lobbyists get!

Let the lawyers see the money in it for them and let them push this idea through Congress's a$$.

We can dream of sanity returning anyway...

If there was really any "War on Drugs", our Military would have those invaders surrounded there by now -- not LEOs, our Military.
