I am a vet. I know the armed forces very well. They are not going to lead any revolution in this country. Ever. It will not happen. If you're waiting for the troops to move on the government because the government is usurping the Constitution, you will wait forever. The troops will do precisely what they did in 1861-1876: they will follow the orders of the President of the United States, even if he is a thuggish jackass bastard, and they will fire on the citizenry if need be in order to enforce their orders.

The men in the military are simply too rigidly obedient to an ideal of a chain of command to ever do what some dream of. If there ever is a revolt in this country, it will come from the citizenry, and the military will fight them. Now, it may well be that there are a lot of resignations from the military, and desertions and retirements, and recruiting will plummet, but the actual military itself turning on the President? It will never happen.
