MYFOXNY.COM - Police in Oregon have released an audio recording of the statement made by 54-year-old massage therapist who once claimed that former Vice President Al Gore tried sexually assaulted her.
Gore was in Portland to give a speech on climate change. He apparently hired her for massage services at an upscale Portland hotel. She didn't know the client was Al Gore until she got to the room.
The alleged incident happened in 2006. The woman, who has not been identified, claims Gore pushed her hand toward his pelvic region and then became aggravated when she wouldn't comply.
But the official police report wasn't filed until a few months later. Investigators also say the accuser and her attorney canceled several meetings with detectives to provide them with more information about the alleged incident.
It wasn't until more than two years later when she contacted police again and provided them with a statement.
"He began demanding that I go lower and massaging on the abdominal area," the woman said in her statement, according to the audio recording. "I was shocked and I did not massage beyond what is considered a 'safe, non-sexual area' of the abdomen. He further insisted and acted angry, becoming verbally sharp and loud. I went into much deeper shock as I realized it appeared he was demanding sexual favors or sexual behaviors."
These allegations surfaced just weeks after he announced he was separating from his wife.
Authorities have said the accuser requested a copy of her police report almost immediately following that announcement.
A family spokesperson says the former vice president has "no comment" on this issue.
