it's been forever since I've posted here... Not sure I'll recognize anyone... but I was looking to see if anyone ever found out what happened to my friend Lois Zipporah who used to be a co-mod here... Robin? anyone?

I met Zipp right before she quit posting here, but I don't think I'm the reason for her absence:

Sept 2007 - Second Amendment Foundation Convention (feat/Ron Paul), asked her if she'd like to attend. She agreed, so I got a hotel room that weekend and tried to call her. Kept getting busy signal. Turns out the f*****g hotel I was staying at hadn't turned on my phone. I went to SAF dealie and then went back to hotel, complained about phone (sonsobitches demanded a credit card at check-in, told me it was for services like phone...)

Anyway, I got in touch with Zipp later and apologised for standing her up and we went out for supper and she drove me back to my hotel and I thought it went pretty nicely. I'd forgotten to bring a comb, and had her stop at like six different stores, but I'm sure we were having fun, it was like a quest...

Like I said earlier though, that was about the last I heard from her.

Her mother died a week before she disappeared... Her husband had died some months before, but he was a drunk who abused her... She'd mentioned to me that she met someone from this board, and seemed happy that she was to meet with the person... I don't think that triggered her disappearance... It was the sudden loss of her mother... Lois is an only child and her father died long ago... Her family consisted of her Mom, her nasty husband, & her two boys... The boys were grown up and had homes of their own... Losing her mother simply devastated her...She & I talked for hours about it on the telephone, as I'd recently lost my own Mum... and she was supposed to ring me back within a week and expected to meet up with someone from cyberland, I think he was a Texan she said, but I never heard back from her... That was 2 years ago... I've always been afraid that something terrible might have happened to her son who was in Iraq that drove her over the edge?? So I am glad to hear that she did make an appearance somewhere else and that some of you saw her... If anyone sees her again, please tell her that I am still waiting for that follow up phone call... i had contact with her long after her mother and her husband passed away. neither of her sons were in Iraq and her youngest was still living at home with her when we last communicated. she was also still employed at the same company she had been with for 2 or 3 yrs. i know a little more, but don't feel at liberty to divulge. what i don't know is why she suddenly decided to break all communication with me and other friends.

I guess all any of us can do is speculate. We are gluttons for punishment here at 4UM. The amount of bad news available is historically high these days and most here are fully aware of it all.

Zipp may have had her fill of punishment. I find myself over loaded with the bad news-blues sometimes too. Having knowledge that everything we've been taught about ourselves and our country is a continuing lie that must be seriously addressed in the face of the most powerful police state on planet earth is depressing.

It's been awhile, for sure... I thought that her son was in harm's way in Iraq?? or scheduled to be deployed at least?? Sorry if that was incorrect... I'm bewildered now as to whom that was that it DID apply to... (my mistake, I guess) I do recall her saying that her youngest son was moving out... I expected that he had already done so... and I know that her older one was married to a delightful girl that Lois really liked... I've got no clue as to her employment... I simply don't recall ever discussing that... Mostly, I recall her profound grief when she lost her mother... She was talking about a new relationship, but offered no details so no clue where that went either... but, like you said, no clue why she just suddenly broke off ALL ties without explanation... Thanks for the corrections... If I hear from her, I'll let you know.
