Karen Johnson, a dynamic Constitutionalist and defender of liberty who served as an Arizona State Senator for two decades, is running for governor of Arizona in the Republican primary. Much of the attention regarding the Arizona governor's race has thus far been focused on Jan Brewer, whose popularity has reached near Sarah Palin type hysteria in the two months since Brewer signed SB 1070, the oft-touted immigration law.

But a closer examination of Brewer's ideology and purported 'conservatism' reveals that she's an opportunist and big government apologist who doesn't hold a candle to Johnson. Johnson has a proven track record on so many issues which are important to liberty-minded people.

Earnest Hancock, longtime libertarian activist and designer of the original 'RON PAUL R3VOLUTION' logo, invited Johnson to speak at one of his events in 2006. Hancock expressed his respect for the senator and explained 'It was this popular and well respected Republican Senator that saw the future and passed the law requiring Manual Validation of computer elections.' A 2006 article entitled Johnson sees U.S.-Mexico plot by Capitol Media Services illustrated Johnson's stark grasp of states rights: "In 2000 Johnson introduced a resolution calling for abolition of the federal government and allowing individual states to reassume their sovereign rights if the president, Congress or any other federal agent were to declare martial law and suspend the Constitution. These states then would be free to form a new nation."

Johnson sponsored a bill "which would have prohibited implementation of the Federal Real ID Act." In a speech to the legislature, she referred to many states which refused to comply with REAL ID, and asked "So what is it that so many state legislatures know that our governor doesn’t seem to understand? Officials, especially on the national level, forget that they do not give orders, they take orders from constituents. The aforementioned states understand this intrusion and the nightmares likely to follow. I oppose making our driver’s license into an identity card for a number of reasons... I believe in state’s rights, and do not support abdicating our state sovereignty to a bunch of bureaucrats in Washington, D.C... the technology required by the REAL ID Act could turn driver’s licenses into tracking devices, allowing computers to track people’s whereabouts...This isn’t Nazi Germany, and I oppose requiring people to carry tracking devices in their pockets..." The usual suspects will hound her into the ground for any questioning of the ludicrous explanation we were given for 9/11. Just like Medina or any others.

That tool Beck will be on the job, no doubt.

These states then would be free to form a new nation."

That's a "dynamic Constitutionalist"? -- as compared to what? An American Constitutionalist?
