An activist soldier sent this. These are people who should be listened to. These are people who will hopefully destroy those who have lied to us every goddamned day. Maybe it'll be these brave men and women who throw the politicians out of office and hang them for the traitors that they are. It surely won't be those who are indentured servants to the system.

One thing he said that really startled me was that " the racists know that their wealth is dependant on their ability to convince the working class to kill and die by making us somehow think that we are superior. What an astute comment. I've never really thought of it that way before. This fellow doesn't pull his punches. That's what makes him such a heroic figure and much to be admired for his courage to take a stand. I hope there are many more like him.
Heroic. It is good to see awakening and the opposition to obedience. If a skinny brown skinned man in tidy whities can bring down the British Empire, certainly it is quite obvious the destruction of violent institutions can not be accomplished with violence. Peace.
This scam is quite obvious in the awarding of medals, ribbons and "honors" to killers we call soldiers who if they did at home what they're doing in Afghanistan would end up in prison.
The problem is, for every intelligent young person with a conscience who sees the truth there are perhaps a thousand who would kill him or us for questioning the wisdom of the rulers. Pat Tillman would have murdered this guy if ordered to do so before he saw the truth for himself, and then he was so stupid in his awakening that he tipped his hand and let on his intentions to expose the truth, and it cost him his life. So you see, the govt need only control some of the people (and soldiers) some of the time to keep all off balance and ineffective. And, those who start to wise up stupidly announce when its time to kill them. Look at the dull normal drivers of the cars with red, white and blue "SUPPORT OUR TROOPS" ribbons on them. Then ask yourself how long it would take to change their thinking, after first telling them what stupid dupes they've been. Good luck with that. America will never be saved by a mass moral awakening. We are simply incapable of it.
They do do it from home. Our killer drones in Af-Pak are remotely piloted and targeted from right here in the States. Those guys telecommute to war.

I'm guessing that most of the guys thinking this way aren't as courageous as this guy was, and also, let's keep in mind that these guys appear to be speaking out after they finish their time in service. If the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan all mutinied and refused to fight they'd soon be set upon by Israelis dressed as the enemy and leading revenge squads to murder them. They'd better wait until they're separated and at home before speaking out. And then only if they require no medical care from the VA. Otherwise they may suddenly expire from "extremely rare reactions to ordinary injections of steroids, pain killers, muscle relaxers, or x-ray dyes." The govt could then cremate the remains (and the evidence of wrongful deaths) and federal judges would dutifully uphold it, just as they do the rulings of "accidental death" in the suspicious demise of federal prisoners who fall from their bunks and puncture vital organs and shatter half of their bones.

There was never a mass moral awakening in our history. Even the revolutionary war saw only 13% dedicated to the principles espoused by the founding fathers. The odds can be played in our favor as well, is what I'm saying. We don't need some Soviet-esque "shoulder to shoulder" mass uprising. We just need to get enough on our side that we become a force they cannot ignore. The vast majority of people will, just as in revolutionary times, sit on the sidelines and keep their heads down, as they always do.

I thought it was supposedly between 25% and 33%. But that is conventional history. I'm not sure how certainly we can know these things.
I thought it was only 3% who actually fought. In today's world that would be about 1 million people.
The percentages aren't exact. 3-5% fought, a percentage supported them to some degree, the rest were loyalists to varying degrees, etc. It's not as if you can take a poll of these things. If someone asked me who I was loyal to, I'd be the biggest most useless statist I could be. It's not as if I (we) owe them the truth. I won't even give them that. .

Agreed. Those that did this intentionally are imo even more guilty. But lately I have a terrible time restraining my anger at bullshit. I am tired of playing patty-cake with people. When it comes to a topic involving life, death, and torture of people that have done nothing to us, polite company arguments are, imo, the domain of useless diplomats. It does no good to be polite with those that are destroying this country. And the military is doing their fair share in destroying this country. They may do it out of (willful) ignorance, or mindless stupidity, but the result is the same as if they knew exactly what they are doing. .

It's not as if you can take a poll of these things. Exactly. You can't Gallup poll the dead and it was a complex situation to begin with. More may have fought or worked for the rebel cause out of fear of royal reprisal if the rebellion failed. Some of the Tory types may have helped the redcoats but concealed it from fear of neighbor reprisals or what-not. We will never really know, however much we guess.

Exactly. People who do "drive by killings" in the US are put into prison with additional charges adding to the sentences. Soldiers who spray billets are excused as inflicting "collateral damage" and if they even get charged their squad mates lie and cover up for them. It's a tough job not killing people you're not sure about, but then again don't sign up for the job if you're unable to do it and don't like the people and countries they send you to.
