Now, for you rabid anti-illegal alien crowd who think I did a bad thing here, tell me what is worse: My client's giving these illegals a ride from El Paso to Dallas or a cop erasing a video tape with exculpatory evidence on it and an INS official sanitizing a report to hide exculpatory evidence?

I don't think you did a bad thing. You did your job and defended a man who, based on what you presented here and then the case against him dismissed, was innocent of "being in on the whole thing."

In any case, when a cop/prosecutor/official hides or falsifies evidence, they deserve to lose.

I think being a libertarian means that I support the right of people to move freely about to find a better life, even if it means crossing some line in the sand, and even if that line is a border.

On this I disagree with you. This is now about our economic survival as people and as a country. How many illegals do we have now? 11 million is reported, but I believe the real number is 2-4 times that. We can't take in the whole world. We have finite resources.
