Happy Independence Charade Day/Weekend y'all!

While you'll all know the realities behind this charade in celebrating something that no longer exists, it's good to have like-minded people to bounce ideas off of.

And regardless, it's a weekend for people to chill and hang with family/friends and even watch some cool fireworks even if most people watching them are clueless.

And remember, this could very well be the last 4th celebration that we experience as a nation before the reality of this charade cracks wide open.

So stay safe, drink a lot, handle many fireworks after you've been drinking, and eat some good food!

Last year I ran into a guy selling fireworks. All I had was $250 on me, and I spent it all with him. He had some great stuff. So far I haven't found anything this year. Huge bummer.

He had all sorts of high flying, colorful 30, 40, 50 shot cakes that really surprised me when I set the off. I woulda spent a grand with him this year if I had seen him.

Here in my sleepy little town they put flags up along the main street which is also Highway 385. It costs the people that want to put them out every holiday $25.00/yr. and goes to the Kiwanis Club's eyeglasses for children program. I give em the money and have them "hold the flag" (keep the flag cause I don't want one in front of my place).

The public officials in D.C. have soiled our image beyond repair.

YOU only count when it's census or TAX time" ... don't you find it ironic that the census bureau says they rely upon the Constitution for their authority and pays their help in UNCONSTITUTIONAL FRNs ... bend over and lick the hand that beats you !

it's funny how so many towns have signs everywhere forbidding fireworks on so-called 'freedom' day. then they charge the people to line up at the local high school stadium with sneering cops patrolling everyone, to 'enjoy the 4th'!!! it's beyond obscene.
