www.StandWithArizona.com This Fourth of July weekend, a border watch will be going on in Southern Arizona under the close scrutiny of the Cochise County Militia.
Tom Fellows came to Tombstone from Prescott to meet up with the border watch group. His truck was stocked with folding chairs and plenty of water.
"You sit there all day and keep our eyes open," Fellows said.
Fellows says he wants to bring attention to an issue often left in the dust.
Not that much different than the Minutemen really, except that the Militia are more consistently trained, and in some cases better equipped. Some Minutemen are there, others not.
PHOENIX - A man who recently served as an adviser to John McCains rival and once helped launch the Minuteman border watch movement has been accused by his estranged wife of threatening to kill their family and any police who try to protect them.
Chris Simcoxs wife, who is seeking a divorce, alleges in court documents he brandished a gun and threatened to shoot his family on at least two occasions in late 2009 four years after he became instrumental in founding the Minuteman movement, which brought thousands of anti-illegal immigration activists to patrol the U.S.-Mexico border and report suspected illegal migrants to the border patrol
Simcox's marital affairs have jack squat to do with the Minutemen!
Simcox personally founded the Minutemen, and his lack of character in his personal life speaks quite a bit of the kind of people who gravitate to him and the movement which places him at its top.
Not that I disagree with the basic principles, but once again we get somebody not fit for the "office" and some followers who can't recognize that.
Your ignorance is showing. Jim Gilchrist founded the Minuteman Project (MMP), and teamed up with Simcox for the April 2005 border watch in Arizona. Two weeks into it, they split and Simcox formed the Minuteman Civil Defence Corps (MCDC).
I still have my original 2005 MMP card from Tombstone. I've never had, nor wanted an MCDC card.

Not to mention the fact that Simcox's board wanted to know where the money was going and got fired for it.
