Ex-con Traficant disqualified by Ohio elections officials in bid for congressional combeack

Former Ohio Rep. James Traficant has been disqualified in his bid to return to Congress after seven years in prison.

Political adviser Linda Kovachik says elections officials in Trumbull County ruled Tuesday that Traficant was short of the number of petition signatures required to get on the fall ballot.

She says Traficant plans to appeal. Elections board officials did not immediately return a call seeking comment.

Traficant was hoping to run as an independent in his Youngstown-area home turf against Democratic Rep. Tim Ryan.

Traficant represented the region in Congress as a Democrat for nearly two decades. He left federal prison in September after serving time for corruption.

Whatever it is, he has made no waves. Time is fleeing and haying season will soon be over.

Apparently you know very little about Jim Traficant. The only possibility of any of your statement having any merit whatsoever is a threat to a family member. As for the possibility of a payoff, if you even think that, you must believe the official government 9-11 theory.

What TPTB did to Jim Traficant is just short of what the British did to Patrick Henry. They say paybacks are a bitch and believe me somebody has a payback coming from Jim. Jim Traficant played by all the rules as Mahoning County sheriff and as a U S Congressman, except when those rules ran aground of decency and the U S Constitution. Believe me! He will have his day. When the shooting starts and the hangings follow, maybe just maybe, we the people might make him the head federal marshall who will be more than willing to carry out those hangings of the traitors who are hellbent on destroying this nation. Jim Traficant is a leader and one I am very proud to know personally.
