Well ya, abraxas, this is before my time, but I do remember the "Singin' Brakeman." One of my all time favorites.

Here's a version of "In the Jailhouse" I heard recently that I hadn't picked up on before.

"The people in power will not disappear voluntarily, giving flowers to the cops just isn't going to work. This thinking is fostered by the establishment; they like nothing better than love and nonviolence. You know what I like about old school country? It's all about the music, they don't jump all over the stage. It's just guitars, songs and a good time!

I like that version of In the Jailhouse Now. I was reminded of Jimmie Rodgers after I saw Hank Snow because Hank always said it was Jimmie Rodgers that his career goin' after hearing just one song. : )

I think he influenced many, many musicians. Way before my time too, but my dad liked that ol' music and so it's part of my childhood now.
