"The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country. ... Well ya, abraxas, this is before my time, but I do remember the "Singin' Brakeman." One of my all time favorites.

Here's a version of "In the Jailhouse" I heard recently that I hadn't picked up on before.

You know what I like about old school country? It's all about the music, they don't jump all over the stage. It's just guitars, songs and a good time!

I like that version of In the Jailhouse Now. I was reminded of Jimmie Rodgers after I saw Hank Snow because Hank always said it was Jimmie Rodgers that his career goin' after hearing just one song. : )

I think he influenced many, many musicians. Way before my time too, but my dad liked that ol' music and so it's part of my childhood now.
