With absolutely minimal evidence, this guy attributes most of LV's economic troubles to illegal immigration. Not true. Las Vegas exists only exclusively as a gambling resort. It requires constant and heavy influx of visitors for its business. Its expensive hotels require out-of-towners to rent the rooms. But visiting Las Vegas means that the visitors must already have extra money -- money for non-necessities. With the rest of the country on the ropes financially, hardly anyone has the loose cash to travel, rent a hotel room, and lose the rest at the casino tables. Thus LV's unemployment problem. When the rest of the country gets the sniffles, Las Vegas has pneumonia.

Yes.

If anyone believes that 14% stat, I've got oceanfront property in Vegas to sell them. The number is much higher. There is no place to go if you lose your job here. People continue to be layed off. The rest of us have twice the work, lowered wages and cut hours to deal with.
