Did someone say she was singing?

Some cultures are capable of producing true art, others aren't.

Artistic leanings seem prevalent in Celtic cultures, moreso than others it seems (at least from a European perspective). This transcends the p/q language split, the Celts of ancient Europe were highly artistically creative, just like modern Brythonic/Gaels are.

This isn't saying that Germanics/Slavs/Italics/Finns don't create art, just that the predisposition for extremely high artistic creation seems almost genetically embedded in Celts (Gaels and Brythonic alike). Or if you prefer, it resides in our souls as an ever burning flame. No idea why.

Yes ... here it is quasi-interpreted from gaelic:

Chorus (after each verse):
Chorus (after each verse):
Dúlamán na binne buí Beautiful yellow dúlamán
Dúlamán Gaelach Irish dúlamán
Dúlamán na binne buí Beautiful yellow dúlamán
Dúlamán Gaelach Irish dúlamán

A'níon mhín ó Oh gentle daughter
Sin anall na fir shúirí Here come the wooing men
A mháithair mhín ó Oh gentle mother
Cuir na roithléan go dtí mé Put the wheels in motion for me

Tá ceann buí óir There is a yellow-gold head
Ar an dúlamán gaelach On the Irish seaweed
Tá dhá chluais mhaol There are two blunt ears
Ar an dúlamán gaelach On the Irish seaweed

Rachaimid go Doire I would go to Dore
Leis an dúlamán gaelach With the Irish seaweed
Is ceannóimid bróga daora I would buy expensive shoes
Ar an dúlamán gaelach Said the Irish seaweed

Bróga breaca dubha The Irish seaweed has
Ar an dúlamán gaelach Beautiful black shoes
Tá bearéad agus triús The Irish seaweed has
Ar an dúlamán gaelach A beret and trousers

Ó chuir mé scéala chuici I spent time telling her the story
Go gceannóinn cíor dí That I would buy a comb for her
'Sé an scéal a chuir sí chugam The story she told back to me
Go raibh a ceann cíortha That she is well-groomed

Góide a thug na tíre thú? "What are you doing here?"
Arsa an dúlamán gaelach Says the Irish seaweed
Ag súirí le do níon "At courting with your daughter"
Arsa an dúlamán maorach Says the stately seaweed

Ó cha bhfaigheann tú mo 'níon "Oh where are you taking my daughter?"
Arsa an dúlamán gaelach Says the Irish seaweed
Bheul, fuadóidh mé liom í "Well, I'd take her with me"
Arsa an dúlamán maorach Says the stately seaweed

Dúlamán na binne buí Beautiful yellow dúlamán
Dúlamán Gaelach Irish dúlamán
Dúlamán na farraige Dúlamán from the sea
Dúlamán __ Dúlamán __

Clannad performed a similar (very old rendition of this Irish classic); here it is with Meav singing an animated video that helps to explain the song.
