Does anyone have sources for Abraham Lincoln quotes of his regretting the results of the Civil War? Someone posted one not long ago, a few days, a week maybe, but I can't find it. It had to do with the bankers and the like I think. Anyway, greatful for any help, I've searched on Google.

On Nov. 21, 1864 President Abraham Lincoln wrote a letter to Colonel William F. Elkins. he wrote: "I see in the near future a crisis approaching that unnerves me and causes me to tremble for the safety of my country. As a result of the war, corporations have been enthroned, and an era of corruption in high places will follow, and the money power of the country will endeavor to prolong its reign by working upon the prejudices of the people until all wealth is aggregated in a few hands and the Republic is destroyed. I feel at this moment more anxiety for the safety of my country than ever before, even in the midst of war."

The war was Lincoln's fault so he had no one to blame but Lincoln. He was a tyrant.

BTW, do you know where that letter of his to Colonel Elkins can be found? Library of Congress?

I found it online (and can't attest to whether he actually said it or not). Lincoln didn't care about the country, else he wouldn't have done his best to destroy a big part of it.

Now, I can't attest to him actually saying it because I wasn't there. But there are several sources who claim he said it. These are just a few.
