Does anyone have sources for Abraham Lincoln quotes of his regretting the results of the Civil War? Someone posted one not long ago, a few days, a week maybe, but I can't find it. It had to do with the bankers and the like I think. Anyway, greatful for any help, I've searched on Google.

This what you mean?

On Nov. 21, 1864 President Abraham Lincoln wrote a letter to Colonel William F. Elkins. he wrote: "I see in the near future a crisis approaching that unnerves me and causes me to tremble for the safety of my country. As a result of the war, corporations have been enthroned, and an era of corruption in high places will follow, and the money power of the country will endeavor to prolong its reign by working upon the prejudices of the people until all wealth is aggregated in a few hands and the Republic is destroyed. I feel at this moment more anxiety for the safety of my country than ever before, even in the midst of war."

The war was Lincoln's fault so he had no one to blame but Lincoln. He was a tyrant.

The quotation is fake according to Lincoln's own secretary:

The link worked for me. It's a clipping from the NYT dated 1896 in which Lincoln's secretary claimed it was false.

Actually, if you ever read any of the books about Lincoln written and meticulously footnoted by Dr. Thomas DiLorenzo, you would have no problem believing it is a false statement. Lincoln was a creature of the railroad giants, as well as the other large industrialists of his time. He was bought and paid for. How's the old saying go, the more things change the more they stay the same? That saying describes our political system to a tee.

Yes, I have said on numerous occasions that Lincoln was a tyrant and that he really didn't care about the country. He cared about power. I have no use for him, think he is one of the worst presidents ever. I think the fraud occupying the White House right now is about the top of the list of worst ever but Lincoln is right up there close to him.

I do not see it that way myself. As far as tyrants and traitors to the Constitution and the American people go, I see Lincoln as being number 1, FDR #2, Wilson #3, LBJ #4, GWB #5 and Obama #6. While Obama has done some screwed up stuff and will likely continue to do so, so far he has done nothing compared to the first five I mentioned. Of course you know what Lincoln did, but FDR lied us into WWII for purely political and economic reasons, causing the death of and injury of millions around the world, not to mention pissing all over the Constitution with his New Deal laws and giving the American people a "you owe me" mindset. Wilson lied to get us into WWI, also causing the death of millions which also set the stage for WWII and then jailed dissenters to boot. LBJ lied us into the Vietnam War with the Gulf of Tonkin fraud and gave us the "Great Society," further enslaving the American people and destroying the family unit within the inner-city black and rural white communities. GWB lied us into the War in Iraq, gave us the Patriot Act, the Military Commissions Act, illegal wiretapping, and basically set up the police state infrastructure which later presidents and Congresses will expand upon and add to. So far Obama is a piker compared to the others. However, I doubt that same statement can be said by the time his term is up, especially if he is reelected.
