I believe, in the parlance, that is referred to as "native handicrafts" in the tourist brochures.

It's a real shame too, because there are many historic sites I would love to see in Mexico.

There are a lot of archaeologic sites I wouldn't mind seeing, but at this point Tiahuanaco looks much more appealing.
