David Mixon of Texarkana, Texas, found what he thought was a weed growing up through his driveway concrete. Within three weeks time a 36-foot vine has sprouted with nearly 25 watermelons on it. Mixon said he did not plant the sprout and has never seen anything grow at such a fast rate. The melons will be enjoyed by Mixon’s friends and family as soon as they are ripe. One year my wife and I bought a dogwood from the nursery. It died. The next year a volunteer dogwood sprouted about 150 yards away. It died. The next year two dogwoods sprouted from the volunteer dogwood. They are going strong. Sometimes God is very kind.
