The poll showed that 43 percent of Americans now say that the U.S. made a mistake in sending troops to Afghanistan compared to 52 percent that say it was not a mistake. Support for the war in Afghanistan seems to have been negatively impacted by the publication of tens of thousands of leaked documents outlining the problems that the U.S. military has faced. A poll conducted just prior to the publication of the documents showed that 38 percent of Americans said it was a mistake to send troops to Afghanistan compared to 58 percent who said it was not a mistake. However, Americans' views of U.S. progress in Afghanistan have been decidedly negative since late last summer. The most recent poll showed that 62 percent say that things are going very or moderately badly for the U.S. military compared to 34 percent that say thing are going very or moderately well. Approval of Obama's handling of the war in Afghanistan has also taken a big hit in recent months, falling to 36 percent in the most recent poll from 48 percent in February. Disapproval of his handling of the war has also shot up to 57 percent from 47 percent. Tatarewicz: Poll shows that over half of Americans are dummies when it comes to understanding that US soldiers are not fighting for American interest but those of Israel as a result of control of Congress by the Israeli lobby which bankrolls the election campaigns of lawmakers with dollars it "swindles" from American taxpayers.
