No, you can just put BB's on one side. It's not my idea so I can't take credit for it. I read a post by someone else on another forum I used to post on. He suggested using one of the Estes igniters for model rockets connected to a battery. That way you can set up a field of them, and run the leads through a switch. Just use coated copper wire for the leads.. You can put a cinderblock behind them to prevent any back blast.
