To: Lysander_Spooner (#5) Same as it ever was. Perhaps to a lesser degree back when I was young. In times of war, the government reached out into the lives of the masses, other than that, they were mostly unheard and unseen. Even State government was a mere shadow of what they are now. Laws were few, even less enforced, for the unwashed Americans it was mostly live and let live. Roosevelt set all aside all of that and the downhill parade to oblivion was on.
