I think the guy's first name is Boris. Last name is something eastern European, I think but don't remember. I got a couple of his calendars years ago. I think he has models pose and then paints a fantasy environment around them. In addition to embellishing things like the flaming red hair. And the sword. Not sure about the monster she's sitting on though.

It finally came to me---Boris Vallejo. He paints some gorgeous women--and according to the article I have linked to here he uses his wife as a model sometimes. Must be one heck of a good-looking woman!
