Eric Stratton: Do the bulk of us truly deserve individual liberty?
ghostdogtxn: Certainly not. But if I want it, I have to let people who don't deserve it have it, too.
People who willfully violate their oaths of office don't deserve it and should all be denied the liberty and "license" to continue doing so. If the oaths were intended to be just for show, what's the point? Public office is such a serious responsibility that it should not even be sought by those who disdain and disregard our Constitutional system. They are even more of a danger than operators of heavy machinery under the influence of intoxicating substances -- wanton power being the intoxicant in their case. Enforcement against the violators of their oaths should entail immediate removal or supension from office as fast as if they were being arrested for a DUI, and other penalties too, in order to deter such recklessness. We could elect several back-up people on stand-by to fill each seat as necessary.
