Police in Gaston County, North Carolina have charged Daniel Salas Zamora, 35, with second-degree rape, kidnapping and first-degree burglary.
According to court documents, the rape occurred early on Saturday morning, after Zamora allegedly forced his way into the womans home. The victim and Zamora knew each other.
Gaston County Police Capt. Joe Ramey said: They were acquaintances, but had been a part for several months.
Zamora is being held in the Gaston County Jail on $1 million bond, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement has placed a hold on him.
Zamora has been in the U.S. for over ten years.
