It took about 3 hrs to record six vocal tracks, two guitar, one bass and two hand clapping, with one track of electronic percussion for a total of 11 tracks.
As I mentioned before I've been recording blues for months and I took a break on a whim yesterday and recorded a song that asserts that moonshine is morally superior to "marihuana".
I doubt that the federal "revenoors" would agree with Merle on that.

I suspect that most of them (the "revenoors") are only interested in rousting someone and charging them with some kind of crime so they can bring in "mo' money" for de gubmint and put someone in prison and ruin their lives over nothing. And I doubt they care much either way if they're busting people for untaxed liquor--which is really what the beef is about--or untaxed marijuana.

They never mention in news reports about seizures of illegal machine guns that at issue is a $200 tax stamp. They really hate being reminded that the govt's only legit interest in guns is for tax purposes, not to regulate the people who keep guns to regulate the govt.
I was watching a show about an Alaskan Native American who shot a polar bear/brown bear hybrid (they said it couldn't happen) and he was legally hunting with a full auto M16.
Sometimes I wish I was a Native American. Preferably one with a large chunk of a casino.
Great post. As I recall, that "$"200 tax stamp was the main reason they went in and bbq'ed the Branch Davidians, women, children and all. And they could have picked up David Koresh any time they wanted. They say he was out jogging just about every day. Guess that wouldn't have made the statement that burning them out made though.

It was budget markup time in Congress and the BATF wanted to film themselves in full SWAT regalia raiding a "dangerous cult with a cache of suspected machine guns" so they could ask for more money to fulfill what they hoped would be their "expanded mission", that of a paramilitary strike force instead of snoopy tax bureaucrats who "can't get no respect". If it later turned out that none of the weapons were illegal and no auto sears were found installed or otherwise it wouldn't matter, as long as Congress was treated to the film (already arranged by antigunner Charles Schumer) and budgeted accordingly.
For some reason (possibly to kill several of Clinton's bodyguards who could have brought him down for the use of DU in Bosnia-a war crime) some agent provocateur fired first through the front door hoping to commence a shooting war. The Feds removed that door from the evidence room of The Texas Rangers and then somehow "lost it". And the rest as they say, is history.
Congress actually considered abolishing the BATF as a result but none of the other federal "police" agencies, i.e. The FBI, secret service, postal inspectors, etc., would hire the disgraced agency thugs. And because The BATF changed from liquor enforcement to harassing gun owners and dealers as a result of the repeal of the 18th amendment (passage of the 21st amendment) just to avoid laying off BATF goons, (an act that could quickly become a trend if it ever gets started and the people see it) they kept the agency intact with the understanding that we'd never see another BATF SWAT-style raid.
Most federal agencies should be abolished and the BATF should be among the first to go. Secret Service should be abolished too. What good are they, protecting idiots like Obama and Bush? And going after alleged "counterfeiters" when the biggest one works right out in the open (the Federal Reserve). Yet they never frog march any of those people down to the local hoosegow. I can't think of much use for most federal agents except maybe feeding the hogs.
