"I took my girlfriend bowling and I kissed her on the strikes and she kissed me on the balls."
Soupy Sales may have recited that line but it was Dick Biondi, a dee-jay on Chicago's WLS Radio station who was literally removed from the broadcast booth for uttering the same words about taking his girlfriend to a Cubs baseball game. At the time, Biondi had the largest radio audience in the nation. If my memory is correct, it was in 1959. Biondi never made it to the top again.

Thank you for the factoid.
I don't know now if the quote was accurately attributed to Sales.
