When Is Enough, Enough? For nearly five months, the BP oil disaster has consumed the minds of millions of people worldwide. In addition to the horrific impacts that the crude oil and chemical dispersants have daily on the environment and the economy, a fatal threat has quietly slipped by the public’s proverbial radar. The harm dealt by this silent enemy is beginning to creep into the lives of those living and working in the Gulf. The problem has been lurking in the Gulf since the first days of the BP oil spill and now has the potential ignite a disaster unlike any this country has ever seen.

The test results can been seen here:

Blood Test Results Blood Test Results Who is this masked bandit? What is this mysterious force that has the potential to outpace the spill’s catastrophic events thus far? Though it may sound like a simple answer, (and it is not easy to swallow) the truth is that this tragedy is silent, and if you live in the Gulf, it is most likely affecting you right now as you read this. What is it? Your health may be in extreme jeopardy due to the toxic effects of the dispersant Corexit and volatile organic compo unds (VOCs) from crude oil inundating the air. Through recent studies conducted under the combined efforts of Michelle Nix of Gulf Coast Oil Spill Volunteers, Jo Billups and Karen Harvill of Sassafrass, Dr. Robert Naman, Project Gulf Impact, medical professionals, and the brave Gulf residents who have agreed to be tested, the toxic health effects of the poisons in the air and in the sea have been documented for the first time. The results? This stands to become one of the greatest health tragedies The United States has ever seen.

[from the linked article]

Amidst a vacuum created by the unwillingness of federal, state, and private sector medical organizations to address the growing health problems, independent, privately-funded groups like Gulf Coast Oil Spill Volunteers (GCOSV), Sassafrass, and Project Gulf Impact have taken matters into their own hands.

Patterns are emerging. The same symptoms are being reported across the four hardest hit states. Michelle Nix of GCOSV discovered the Volatile Solvents Profile – a blood test that tests for hydrocarbons in the blood. Through the generous support of Jo Billups and Karen Harvill of Sassafrass, and the support of Dr. Robert Naman, among others, testing on Gulf residents has begun. The results are extremely alarming.

For those of us whose minds can still tolerate the dissonance between the whole truth and the wholesale lies being marketed to the entranced populace, this confirmation of the effects, malevolently intentional or merely collateral damage from the pursuit of profit and avoidance of liability, is no surprise but is sad and mind-numbing nonetheless.

It occurs to me that the Oil volcano cover-up is now the new litmus test, displacing 911 simply because it is nearer in time, for revealing the extent to which minds are in denial, abdicating responsibility to think independently of the media-Matrix's mind control.

Here we have living Americans, in the MILLIONS, with their health and very lives threatened not by fictional bogeymen but by corporate murderers acting brazenly in the full light of media attention.

Oh Wait! What media attention?

"If my favorite talking head does not tell me it is so, then it is something I can ignore, safe in my media-packed coffin."

The tendency to turn one's attention away from works of dark design out of a feeling of helplessness and despair is one thing; to willfully, gleefully catapult the propaganda (as some of our spiritually retarded forum members take such delight in doing) is quite another.

Cooperating with a conspiracy of silence or outright lies makes such cheerleaders for the corporatacracy guilty of being accessories after the fact in one of the most overt large scale mass-murders-in-slow-motion to date!

The only gleam of light in the referenced article is the story of the volunteers, the brave and compassionate people who are taking action despite the risk of being marginalized or harassed or ridiculed. The first step is raising awareness, using standard scientific testing to establish the scope of the crime.

The existence and actions of those Americans who are taking constructive action against this evil on a monstrous scale inspire me to have hope for humanity's ultimate awakening from this millennia-long nightmare on planet earth.

Exactly. I still recall a young lady who worked in office on a different floor who told me that an achaeologic find couldn't have occurred "otherwise it would have been on CNN". And she was not stupid, merely ignorant and conditioned.

If this is such a powerful threat, why has it gone so under reported for so long? Why is mainstream media ignoring these potentially large-scale health problems? The scenario’s biggest problem is the scenario itself. Perpetrated by a corporation, the influx of relief that would ordinarily stream in after most acts of God has quietly gone elsewhere.

Why is this killer so silent? Why have we not heard much about the disastrous health effects of this oil and dispersant in the air? Why are everyday citizens not catching on to what gargantuan health problems are coming in the not-so-distant future, affecting everyone, even the journalists who should be reporting on it? The answer may seem strange, and it is complex, however the biggest problem facing this mounting horrific scenario is… the BP oil spill was not a hurricane.

The oil spill disaster in the Gulf of Mexico will go down in history as one of the biggest catastrophes this planet has ever seen. Books are already being written on how much we didn’t know. The cover up and the lies that led this country into the health crisis we are about to face will be documented in years to come. Acts of God, like hurricanes, are fast and furious, the damage is immediate. This, on the other hand, is a slow death.

With a hurricane, we know the death toll, the devastation right away. We see the bodies, the houses underwater, and the numbers of dollars lost in real-time as all of the data floods the national spotlight in the aftermath of the disaster. With disasters like Hurricane Katrina, our heartstrings are tugged as we witness cities underwater, mothers crying out for their children, and the newly homeless wandering the streets. We are used to hurricanes. We have evacuation routes. Whether they function or not, we have plans in place for disasters like these.

No such plan exists for the victims of an oil spill. Instinctively, we are aware of floods, fires, earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, and other “over the counter” disasters. Most of us have never suffered an oil spill, much less have any notion of what to do in the event of one. The problem we are facing now transcends most disasters this nation has suffered in the last century.

The oil spill, and our ensuing response, has created a darker and deadlier aftermath that will persist for decades. The difference is between a swift and lethal blow verses lingering end-stage cancer. Like the first stage of cancer, which often goes long-undetected, this aftermath is a slow, deadly creep. We are entering stage one of the Gulf residents’ proverbial “cancer”.

Yes indeed.

Still horse feathers.

If airborne VOCs translate into hydrocarbons in the blood of gulf residents then that validates every bit of the report.

Perhaps it's a knee jerk reaction or a programmed response to "posture unconcerned" in the face of alarming rhetoric.

You may later find that you are a victim of mind control measures if you believe that the initial attempts to report a major crisis that's officially blacked out is " horse feathers". At best this is a life changing event and there are ample reasons (for govt and BP) to lie about the true and total health effects of this disaster.

Those who taught you to reject sincere attempts to expose the lethal effects of the spill and the dispersants have much to lose if people wake up. Which is why it's all the more odd that you'd reflexively side with those who wish to bury the bodies without so much as a cursory investigation into the validity of the report.

That by itself is a very strong, very alarming statement, a statement NOT with a scintilla of scientific background.

Recall in the early days of the oil disaster, the sensational predictions that the Gulf Stream would be forever destroyed, that Europe would become part of the Arctic?????

Not heard to much of that lately and the Gulf Stream sails merrily along.

I don't believe we've ever experienced a disaster where upwards of a half a million people were sickened or were at risk of early deaths. (Although it's been asserted that after Three Mile Island vented radioactive steam the prevailing winds carried contamination to dairy cows that provided milk for Hershey's chocolates-the ramifications of that are unsettling and needless to say impossible to quantify even if govt and industry were willing which as in this case they certainly weren't)

And, I don't know that the people who are testing for hydrocarbons in blood had anything to do with the claims of the earth tilting on its axis or whatever.

There's plenty of room to become the worst disaster in our history without ever factoring in any environmental damage, wouldn't you say? The human costs alone (to say nothing of the destruction of marine life) or to put it simply, a sufficient body count would do it.

I think that BP executive that called us "small people" will soon be in a grave. People are as mad as hell about this and no amount of money will make it alright. Potentially millions could be wiped out here. Yes, anyone working for BP should find a place to hide if this occurs, because no amount of security and money will protect them.

God is always good!

I understand your anger but I don't wish death upon this person because then his/her problems would be over.

It's so much better if he/she spends the remainder of his/her life running from such a statement, because they have a way of coming back to visit, and in the unlikeliest of scenarios.

Imagine a BP hack lying on the beach in the Bahamas and then being recognized.

I'd much rather ID the person and see to it that he/she is never again deemed suitable to serve as the public face of another corporation.
