Because nothing crazy has happened in Florida for almost 20 whole minutes, an Orlando police team decided that the best way to handle a plush toy pony left in a public park was to skip the "lost and found" hassle and just blow it up. The park is immediately adjacent to Waterbridge Elementary School, which police apparently did not consider calling to ask if anyone had lost their toy horse. Fortunately, the Orlando bomb squad waited for camera crews to arrive, so we can all enjoy the exploding toy horse that will surely haunt the children of Waterbridge for many years to come.
The Orlando Sentinel's Bianca Prieto reports, "The FurReal pony, an expensive, life-like toy, was investigated as a possible explosive device after someone called Orange County deputies to report it. A robot inspected the toy before a pack of explosives was placed near the stuffed animal and detonated." Local TV news labeled this "breaking news" and their "top story" for the day, which sounds crazy until you watch the video of the horse being blown up.
for all that is wrong about this level of fear, it's fun seeing those 2 reporters try to keep a straight face ~
'n speaking of fear, after that employee shooting couple weeks ago in NC, my employer put a sign on every door, even roll-up garage doors 'No guns allowed in building' ~ it's easing their fear somehow, makes me laugh
