Pye is a bit conservative. Artifacts recovered outside of Mexico City and dated by Virginia Steen-McIntyre of the U.S. Coastal and Geodetic Survey, using standard dating techniques, came up with an estimated age of 240,000 years. Of course despite using sound and standard methodology she was run out of Archaeology for having uncovered "heretical" results. She now owns a Florists shop - in Austin if I recall correctly.

people can easily figure out that if we were created as slaves, we have 'managers' running the farm for the owners.

those would be the elite bloodline families, the 'royalty', the politicians, the brotherood types. etc.

then its VERY easy to see that the various forms of government all reflect this slave owner mentality....we are property, etc.

the various forms of religion also mirror this slave trip.

the 'jehovah' diety of the OT is the ultimate slave tripper.... 'you will do what i say or you will pay....you belong to me, etc'

then you have ALL the references in the NT to people as 'sheep'....'my fathers estate'...all refer to people as PROPERTY....

so you've got the yin/yang slave trip scene....you're going to belong to someone, thats not to be in question.

but with the taoists, the wu wei state, you don't belong to anything...because its all just one big Whole.

and THOSE types are really hard to control, with either the carrot or the stick, because they aren't buying into the polarity-based mindset, whose unstated premise is always that you BELONG to one side or the other, but NEVER any other way.

While falling short of agreeing unreservedly with your eschatology I do agree with your conclusion that we live in a mad culture driven by a false paradigm.

The illusion of the two false choices is, as you note, as old as human culture on this planet and goes back beyond the horizon line of recorded history.

Once one recognizes it as a False Dilemma or Black and White Fallacy one can begin to escape from the loop. And it is false logic. It is a construction created to further the interests only of those who would style themselves the ruling elite. Yet, even they are trapped by their own false logic as it is self limiting and has resulted eventually in the collapse of every major civilization on this planet.
