Anyone know what the damages to the Verizon Building or the Old PO Building were? On top of all else, seems odd that the damages to those two weren't nearly what they were to a building partially buried behind them. WTC Complex Map [click to enlarge the image]

I can't answer your question, but I am about jumping up and down here cursing at what I just uncovered. I was surfing through Internet Archives archived news footage from 9/11 trying to find distinct sounds of explosions when I found the clip at this link: www.archive.org/details/abc200109110954-1036 If you fast forward to 5:15 on the video, Don Dahler reports to Peter Jennings: At about 6:05 he says: Then at 7:40 the story changes, completely, to the official version: There are a whole bunch of questions I would like to ask this bastard when he's under oath on a witness stand. That MFer. I cannot even think of how comment on that. It is totally preposterous that he could claim to think this based on what he could see from that distance. The man is a collaborator. He should be jailed for life or hung once we get these bastards into court. I plan on doing an edit of this video with commentary and getting it on youtube tonight. I hope my skills are still good enough to do a decent job of it. Any good video editors lurking here?

Yes, Peter, it’s Don Dahler down here. I’m four blocks north of the World Trade Center. The second building that was hit by the plane has just completely collapsed. The ENTIRE building has just collapsed, as if a demolition team set off — when you see the old demolitions of these old buildings.
But the entire — at least as far as I can see, the top half of the building — at least half of it — I can’t see below that — half of it. Just started with a gigantic rumble, folded in on itself, and collapsed in a huge plume of smoke and dust.
Peter? Uh, what appeared to happen from my vantage point, the top of the building was totally involved in fire and there was — there appeared to be no effort possible to put that fire out. It looked like the top part of the building was so weakened by the fire that the weight of it collapsed the rest of the building. That’s what appeared to happen. I did not see anything happening at the base of the building. It all appeared to start at the top and then just collapse the rest of the building by the sheer weight of the top. There was no explosion or anything at the base part of it, but I did see the top part of it started to collapse, the walls started to bulge out — brick, glass, things coming out, and then it collapsed in on itself and it appeared to just fold down from there, from the very top.

There was an effort to put the fire out. In fact at that very moment battalion chief Orio Palmer was attempting to do just that. How could this guy even surmise that no effort was possible from a 1/4 mile away as he admitted? There was no explosion or anything at the base part of it
He is a 1/4 mile away, and said he can't see more than halfway down the tower. How can he say that nothing happened at the base? Why would he even mention the base? Did anyone mention anything happening at the base? It sounds like he was told to say that to take away any attention from the base, to me at least. but I did see the top part of it started to collapse, the walls started to bulge out
He saw from 1/4 mile away with the naked eye that which is not even apparent on close up video shots, because it never happened? It looked like the top part of the building was so weakened by the fire that the weight of it collapsed the rest of the building.

I just noticed some text mistakes I have to fix, I have to slow down the scrolling, maybe take out some text, and one thing I did notice after watching it for the umpteenth time, it sounds like he is being coached on what to say over a headset or ear piece, when he changes his tune, doesn't it? I am going to dub in some audio near the end, from the FDNY WTC repeater where Orio Palmer is reporting over the radio two isolated pockets of fire...
