Bishop Eddie Long Scandal Update: Baptist Church Rocked

By ThirdAge News Staff

Posted September 22, 2010 11:15 AM

Bishop Eddie Long's scandal continues to unfold in national media attention. The prominent Baptist bishop in the Atlanta area used his stature to pressure young men into having sex, two lawsuits filed late Tuesday allege. The suits were filed in DeKalb County by two former congregation members against Bishop Eddie Long of the 10,000-seat New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia, WGA-TV, Atlanta, reported.

"Long utilized his spiritual authority to coerce certain young male members and employees of defendant New Birth into engaging in sexual acts and relationships," Maurice Robinson and Anthony Flagg, both in their early 20s, allege in their lawsuits.

The TV station said the suits claim other members of the megachurch probably didn't know what was going on but that church money was used to foster the relationships

as you may know I myself am a bit of a bible thumper.

so I'm not posting this to bash christians. its just a news story.

IMHO the mega-churches shouldn't be trusted. same with the tv preachers. Why? because big money is behind them. and in our given situation is such that there are many with big money in this world who are doing great evil. In other words who finances them assures that they be here to deceive and ruin the christians.

Remember the mega-church leader in Colorado who was ruined because of his secret life of meth enemas and sex with a male prostitute. I was told once the proper term is 'but-rocket'. That christian preacher whose name I forget liked to get a but rocket and then get screwed in the ass by a prostitute.

the guy said he had this secret life since he was a teenager. Let me explain, the fact that he had that secret life is the reason why he was raised up and made the leader of that mega-church. The evil ones on this earth are just that powerful today.

Do you comprehend that after WW2 the US brought 1,100 people who were mind-control experts from Germany and to both the US and the UK. and these people were used as the beginning of mind control programs in America and britain. Since around 1950 they've been actually producing wind-up type human robots to do what they're told to do. That is how this can happen.

I'm sure that many bible colleges are ruined. and many churches too. especially the mega-churches though and the tv preachers.

Many are preaching a doctrine of christian zionism. Yet this is not christian. Read NoOne222's tag line.

How did the catholics get so many pedophiles in their ranks? Why was it tolerated? I'm sure the unusual doctrine they have about priests not getting married might have a lot to do with it. But also, we should consider the possibility of spiritual warfare in our times. People can be programmed to be loyal to evil. purposeful efforts by an evil clique are also a possible cause as to why the catholics have had so much trouble.

That colorado mega-church leader was so loyal to Israel. He preached christian zionist type doctrine. But he opposed Israel's invasion of Lebanon about 3 years ago, and their bombing campaign against Lebanon. He publicly stated this. and he was a fellow raised up to appear on 60 minutes speaking for pre-emptive war with muslims. He was a propaganda piece on the chess-board. and then he turned and went anti-Israel. and then his male prostitute friend outed him and he was disgraced, ruined. who's fooling who?

Christian leaders who do this stuff are sick. I've learned not to put faith in churches. Churches are led by human beings. So often in our era human beings have a huge lust for money, even church leaders, so often they're as flawed and fake as people you might meet in business.

well there are Baptists and there are Southern Baptists. Perhaps there are more denominations that use this 'baptist' term. I don't know.

Yeah, I'm a Baptist and I don't know of any Baptist church that has bishops. Just deacons and pastors/ministers.

Yet many who are called to the ministry are good and decent men and women.

To discredit and destroy our faith is why such worms are inserted into positions of authority.

The Materiarists, Banksters and Psychiatrists, are scared shitless of decent religion in all forms. In their warped and psychotic world their black crimes are so many and so foul that to confront the reality that man is a spiritual being and that they will have to live with their crimes for eternity is not something they can confront. So, they deny and attack religion in all of its decent forms out of their psychotic rage. They are sick - verrrrry sick.

Religion has lifted man up for many centuries. From the great religions we derive and have made our moral and ethical codes and beliefs. The actions of the materialists run absolutely counter to everything decent man has achieved. In order to degrade religion and lessen its influence society and culture the controllers seek to place such sick perverts as this individual into positions of authority. Look at how the Friggin' Gourmet was promoted (and he was a Pastor) until he was brought to account for his abuses of young boys. Pedophiles and perverts of all kinds are sick. They are warped on an inner spiritual level, and the Banksters and Psychiatrists are even worse. So, do not give in to their efforts to degrade religion but instead counter by exalting it in all of its glorious forms for it is religion, more than anything else, which raises man above the animal.

Religion has lifted man up for many centuries. From the great religions we derive and have made our moral and ethical codes and beliefs.

What a load of horseshit.

The history of the last 4-5000 years is nothing but one kike bloodbath after another, egged on by their kike god.

Oh yes, they are soooooo uplifting. Wasn't the Inquisition just marvelous? Oh and the beautiful torture? The screams were like the singing of little angels, right? They were so fucking moral and ethical.

And now we have these pastors raking in millions of dollars, living in mansions, buggering little kids in their spare time (when they're not doing meth...), they steal, the leaders ignore it all or when it can't be ignored, they excuse it, and then they attack the people that these maggots abused.

You'd think that these christian fucktards could get something right after 2000 fucking years, but nooooooo. No progress has been made. Their willing followers are willing victims and willing perpetrators. They aren't worth anything but being spit on.

It looks like this is what following the kike god will get you. Or else their god is the only thing that the kikes got right. Or they got it all wrong and are using idiotic christians for their own purposes.

Yeah, I'd rather be a Satanist. I've had enough of the kike god and the nazarine. They haven't done any good.

The history of the last 4-5000 years is nothing but one kike bloodbath after another, egged on by their kike god.

Thus demonstrating your knowledge of religion somewhere close to approaching zero as a limit.

That's fine, you're welcome to myopic tunnel vision.

While practicioners of various religions have been guilty of some pretty heinous crimes while using religion as a cover for their venality that is not religion and is most definitely not in keeping with the tenets of the religion they were alleging to practice.

However, as usual, you are not troubled by deep thought and seldom allow facts to get in your way. Neither are such subtleties as the actions of some as differentiated from the philosophy of religion likely to trouble your thoughts.

I imagine you have never heard of such as "do unto others as you would have them do unto you"?

Neither, has your irrational rage been blunted by such examples of individual behavior living to the highest standards of religious teaching - such as a Florence Nightingale, Mother Theresa, or such words as "Father forgive them for they know not what they do".

The history of man is a bloody one spattered by the actions of venal and vengeful men, and women, and yet there is an element which runs through, a thread if you will, of striving toward a higher standard, a belief that man can achieve more by following the path of decent behavior and spiritual understanding. And that is a path which has religion, and religious philosophy, as the road markers. One can see it in the Parable of the Good Samaritan, of Buddha forsaking his Warrior Caste to seek knowledge and understanding, and thereby civilizing a continent. Yes, the history of religion is punctuated with the blood spilled by those seeking to use religion as a path to wealth and power but that is not religion nor is it the teachings of most of the great religions. That is all the action of man at his worst, and yet for all the blood spilled, the teachings remain, that one should respect his fellow man, look after the weak, and that it is more noble to stay the brutal hand than to wield the sword.

All of which you speak, minus the gratuitous invective is true, but you know, and I know that such is not the word or the teachings, but the actions of men who disregard the word and the teachings while falsely claiming it as shield.

“Believe nothing merely because you have been told it. Do not believe what your teacher tells you merely out of respect for the teacher. But whatsoever, after due examination and analysis, you find to be kind, conducive to the good, the benefit, the welfare of all beings - that doctrine believe and cling to, and take it as your guide.”
Gautama Siddhartha — The Buddha

This fellow Bishop Eddie he heads up a mega-church. He's on christian tv, etc. He's probably got an empire all to his own and not associated with any denomination but his own. He likely just uses the term 'baptist' in his church's name.

this is so sad. But it just goes to show that you can't trust those portions of the christian world that get the big financing and tv opportunities. He's a bit of a show-man and he's making money.

You cruise through christian tv now-a-days and they've got all these shows about how god will bless you with money and get rid of your debts, etc. Pat Robertson's 'prosperity doctrine'.

the bible says openly that if you persistently work hard, do your job, and in your off-time you still work on projects to improve your house, your business, etc., just keep working and in time you will be prosperous. It does not say if you believe in god, then you'll be prosperous. John the Baptist was said to be by jesus 'the greatest of the prophets'. and he lived his whole life in absolute poverty. He ate bugs to get by. His clothes were self-fashioned from animal hides. He had no job. Many of the disciples that jesus loved ended up being killed brutally. They did not get rich and prosper from their christian association.

The bible also warns many times that being rich is a problem in that it provides temptation and opportunity for evil. The bible repeatedly ridicules rich people and says openly that many will among the rich people will do evil.

But it is true that the bible encourages people to become prosperous - through their own actions.

all of this emphasis on money by the tv preachers is a bad thing.

Psalms 137:1 By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion.
