OkCupid's Politics Test

Conservative? Liberal? Republican? Democrat? No matter how you vote, it's unlikely that any one of these words perfectly reflects your views. Politcal beliefs are often intuitive and personal, and no party, platform, candidate or external label can encompass them exactly.

We at OkCupid designed this test to explore our users' ecomonic and social ideas and then place them into the spectrum of political thought: liberal, conservative, progressive, radical, and so on. We tried to accurately translate a person's own sense of where he stands into a place in the real poiltical world.

OkCupid's Politics Test is short and, as always, highly accurate. At the end, you'll get nifty graphs and charts, and you can compare your score to both your friends' and famous people's. Cheers.

(The Politics Test was designed for Americans but we welcome all takers. Thanks!)

It said that I'm a fizzing, foaming anarchist that beats faux conservatives to death with a shovel in my backyard.

I can't figure out if that's supposed to be good or bad, but it suits me.

Nah...............it said i was a social liberal, and best fit as a Libertarian.

Odd, they didn't ask for my opinions on open borders, etc.

Tests like these have too many questions wanting an answer that fits their pre- definied ideal.......for instance, I am against prayer in school, but it isn't for any of the typical separation of church and state bullshit. Jesus said we're to pray in our 'closet'.

While I'm most always very opinionated, some questions warranted just a plain old 'agree' or 'disagree' rather than 'strongly agree' or 'strongly disagree'. I take that as meaning I am open to the possibility of a change in opinion IF I am shown convincing evidence. Surely that flaws or skews the test.

Were there only Agree or Disagree, the results would be different because I wouldn't allow for leeway.

It said that I'm a fizzing, foaming anarchist that beats faux conservatives to death with a shovel in my backyard.

Herr Krause once chased a couple of us around threatening the same thing. But he was in the Waffen SS during the war as a 17 y/o recruit; captured by the Russians and repatriated. He was then able to come to the U.S. in 1948 after fleeing from Tito's hordes. His father was sent to the camps as a dissenter for protesting his treatment in boot camp to the Commanding Officer. He never could find out his fther's fate in the camps as the records were not all available, some being lost or destroyed due to conditions at the end of the war.

Yeah, I coulda saved ya the trouble.

Try Elvis Gupta's The Mo' money, Mo' problems Test :-) It isn't really investing or money management, but it has its moments.

I took it several times; got 50 on my 1st score, 80 on my second (after digging out my calculator and doing some homework) and answering all questions (he'll let ya skip answering), but I've not been able to best 80. I suspect Elvis Gupta and I would disagree about some of his answers (or at least the wording of his questions). Besides, he misspelled "Poindexter".
