"Satan / Cheney in "08" Fawns are delightful at first but when bucks reach the age of 1.5 yrs and having grown their first racks they can become nuisances if not dangerous. (This is a buck, as is evidenced by the shape of its head. Bucks have flat heads between the ears, and does' heads are rounded like a ball) These people will sure be shocked when they find their dog dead or injured with its head caved in from a hoof blow that resembles death by claw hammer. And yearling bucks will suddenly ram their keepers with antlers, clueless as to the potential for injury or death. When this happens the people (who seldom admit to poor judgment or ignorance) too often set the deer free in some wilderness area and having no fear of humans (and being hungry and accustomed to hand feeding) the deer will likely walk right up to a hunter and be promptly shot. But don't even try to tell these people that they aren't really the really special animal lovers they believe themselves to be. It all starts when they find fawns lying in high grass which they assume are abandoned, and the mothers won't return until the people leave. Even if the mother is road killed and the fawn is orphaned or abandoned, it's better to leave it lay than to try and raise it. Too many deer are being dropped on volunteers who struggle to feed the animals they can rehabilitate, or on zoos who shouldn't be taken advantage of because people get their educations from The Walt Disney School Of Wildlife Management. I cannot watch this playful romp without wondering how it will end. If you can't keep them and you can't set them free.....
