FBI Launching Mass Raids of Antiwar Activists’ Homes Posted By Jason Ditz On September 24, 2010 @ 9:34 am The FBI is confirming that this morning they began a number of “raids” against the homes of antiwar activists, claiming that they are “seeking evidence relating to activities concerning the material support of terrorism.” So far there do not appear to have been any arrests related to the raids nor, according to FBI spokesman Steve Warfield, are there any expected. He also insisted that there was “no imminent threat” related to the antiwar organization targeted. Some of the activists say they were ordered to appear before a grand jury, however. The warrant against antiwar activist Mick Kelly’s home cited efforts to look into his ability to “pay for his own travel” to Palestine and Colombia and appeared to have been little more than a fishing expedition looking for possible links to “foreign terrorist organizations including but not limited to FARC, PFLP, and Hezbollah.” Kelly insists that the raids were about harassing antiwar organizers. Officials said they were related to a Joint Terrorism Task Force investigation. The JTTF in Minneapolis has a long history of heavy-handed investigations against protest groups, including an attempt in 2008 to infiltrate a vegan potluck. Most of the raids were conducted in Minneapolis and were related to antiwar leaders in that city. Other raids were also reported in Chicago, Michigan, and North Carolina. Many of the homes targeted in Minneapolis were related to the Marxist-Leninist group “Freedom Road Socialist Organization” (FRSO) but this was not the only group targeted. According to Reuters, Chicago antiwar activist (and longtime gay rights activist) Andy Thayer was also targeted, which he attributed to “solidarity work, for speaking out on the issues of the day.” CNN also listed the Palestine Solidarity Group, the Twin Cities Antiwar Committee, and Students for a Democratic Society as groups whose members were targeted. The Twin Cities Antiwar Committee’s office was also raided according to the group’s attorneys.
Poster Comment: since sept 11'th 2001 there have been many muslims arrested simply for political reason. I guess this is just president Obama's affirmative action program, they're trying to criminalize anti-war Americans. I knew the democrats would bring 'change'.

This nation is more divided now than it has been at any point in our history. Our government has turned against us and lacking a leader, we will be picked off one by one. Johnny Cash was very anti-war maybe the government would arrest or harass Johnny Cash if his health had held out. The only people ever allowed to speak anti-war on american tv are unsavory characters, people who present themselves poorly, tainted characters. Like Rosie O'Donnel or Adinimejad. these people are presented for the purpose of discrediting any anti-war idea. it is an achievement that most of our people really are anti-war in their guts. but we can't translate that into an anti-war congress because the supply of candidates before us is entirely pro-war. I wonder what happens to real anti-war people who try to get into politics. I'm sure they're dealt with one by one.

What the guy who did the filming should do is file a police report ASAP. And submit a copy of the police report to the governor of Oregon. If the guy still has the master copy of that tape, he should make a copy of it, and send the copy to the police and the governor. Maybe even contact the local tv station to inform them of this and submit a copy of that tape.

Glenn Dreck is part of the problem. His function appears to be to defuse the growing opposition to government corruption and "Perpetual War for Perpetual Peace™". By wasting away the energy of the Tea Party movement in useless and impotent actions it then sucks the energy out of the movement leaving the suckers feeling as though they did something when they were actually sucked into doing something which accomplished nothing. The Tea Party really scares the elites because it is a genuine movement of mass protest that began at the Grass Roots level. So, they are trying to insert their voices of control such as Glenn Dreck, Sean Vannity, Pills Limbaugh, and Sarah, the life support system for a set of tits, Palin as the leadership of the Tea Party so that they may misdirect and dissipate its legitimate protest into ineffective avenues.

I find this to be a common thread amongst "conservatives" and it drives me nuts. That is why the NeoTrotskyCons hate true conservatives because they stand by a set of unwavering principles. Someone who holds a set of principles, with a sense of honor, and then abides by them is the antithesis of the NeoTrotskyCon situational ethics which blows in which ever direction goes the wind. In this sense the NeoConservatives e.g., the dull, ignorant, slack jawed, drooling, doltish, defective, microencephalic, cretinish goobers of the pseudo-conservative crowd of such as Freeptardia, and the Dildoheads, is no different than the ethics espoused by a Stalin or a Lenin.

IMO one other important difference with libertarians is, a sense of country with borders. Some libertarians get it, others not so much. IMO drugs should be legal, not because I want any, but to take the profit out of them. There's no Constitutional authority to control what one puts into their body. To legally prohibit drugs would require a Constitutional amendment, like prohibition.
