I tried to watch the video. and I was looking at his web site to try to see how he stands on the issues. on the video he was speaking about the need to cut spending on social security. did he complain about how since 1983 it has been legal to take the revenues of social security and spend them elsewhere? he did not complain. therefore, I presume that he supports taking the money that is taxed from people's paychecks and diverting it from social security. He didn't shout anything anti-war on the web page I saw, it seems like he's very pro-war. on illegal immigration he stated the same old tired republican words that he wants to get tough on the border. what about auditing employers to find the illegals and punishing the employers. he wears a nice suit, he's raised money for a campaign, but he doesn't even know that we need to audit the employers and punish them for hiring illegals. He's not on my side. My assessment - he's a republican. tea party is a fraud, that is my opinion.

I'm not sure what the TP is, or what it will become, but if it's based on average folks demanding less taxes and smaller central government, it's a step in the right direction.
I guess my experience has taught me to be extremely cynical about american politicians. As I used to be a loyal republican, my strongest ire is turned to that party.

In Florida, our crop of candidates this year is pretty bad. Our governors race is even worse. Pro-Obama Alex Sink vs a Tea Party backed Rick Scott with a questionable past. It looks like FloriDUH again.

Well I admit that I am third party now but I am actively trying to thwart a Republican/CIA infiltrator from destroying my party.

Constitution? American Independent Party. We are the third largest party. We were affiliated with Constitution until the infiltrators took over.

True. But isnt that the norm for California politics? As much as I like the Tea Party, they really picked a poor candidate with Rick Scott. He has too much baggage from when he was CEO of a hospital. The Tea Party seems to be doing better elsewhere.

A) Rubio is woefully uninformed about major problems with the two big entitlement programs........ or B) he is just blowing smoke of the elderly voters' butts for election purposes. I'm leaning toward B on this one.

The relationship between morality and liberty is a directly proportional one.
It is tempting. I won't vote Whitman that is for sure. I'll be voting Chelene Nightengale. Keeps my party with ballot access, key after Prop 14 passage.

That is just an excuse for B...... Keepin' it real is the fact that he knows the entitlement programs are NOT sustainable, yet he is claiming he wants all current and those about to retire to keep all of current benefits, including the UNFUNDED prescription drug benefit that is really a subsidy for big pharma. That's blowing smoke up the elderly voters butts, Mirage.

To us, it is smoke. To the voters, it is sending someone off to Washington with a mandate to submit bills for what they want. Whether it works or not doesn't matter to the voters. What matters is that their representatives represent their interests. ...which means the system is working as designed...

That's Florida politics. They deserve representation, just like you and I. Naturally any politician that wants to get elected will pander to his/her constituents. ------- Political realities? You're talking about political realities? Impossible!

I can't believe that folks actually promote and justify lies from politicians "so they can get elected"........no wonder this nations is such a den of corruption. Hence, the problems, like SS & Med. get WORSE. No need to honestly deal with it, just lie about it for votes and carry on. Nothing to see here Looky Lou. Designed to destroy this nation and the Constitution. It is not sustainable. This blowing smoke up voters butts is destroying this nation.......I just can't condone it. lol....this is how we got the great Jimmy Carter. Like I said, this accepting and justification for lies to get votes is destroying this nation. Heck, it may just be too far off the rails to ever get it back on track, especially since voters expect to be lied to and still vote for the dupes. Yes, I suppose it is true, We the People get the government we deserve. Old school principles like integrity and honesty are no longer relevant to the people.....so bring on the corruption.

lol....I'm relieved that somebody does.: ) Lucky us, we have this "new" and "innovative" pledge to America. Wow, they want to roll back spending all the way back to 2008!! But, keep all the entitlements and massive expansion of government just as it is, of course.

Give it time. Any lock on anything is a good thing. Over time, it will roll back significantly more simply because we are broke.

lol....how much time Mirage. As I recall, GW Bush was going to make government smaller and more accountable. That majority of R's in the House and Senate were going to balance the budget. It's already been two decades since they pulled out that line......how many more decades shall we wait? Gee, I haven't heard any idiots in DC mention that we are broke. They still have the inheritance of my great, great, great, great, great grand kiddies to waste.

Well, I'm not ecouraging it. Just pointing out how all politicians will pander to get votes, and how voters WANT them to pander. None of this is new. Politics has been like that for the past 200 years. Should politicians tell voters the truth? YES. ------- Impossible! Yeah. Posting political realities on 4UM is like showing dracula a cross. ------- Abraxas wants more Ron Pauls.....who don't sugar coat for a vote. Who state that the school loans are a fraud and folks don't need them. Who states that the government is stealing from the people. Who dares speak agains pre-emptive wars. Who actually has read and understands the Constitution. I don't agree with all of Paul's issues, Dillo. I respect and want more of his honesty and integrity though. I'm not going to justify the lies for votes, not because it's been justified for years not because, as you claim, voters "want" to be lied to......I won't justify it because it's destruction. Paul gets re-elected telling the truth. So, there's an example.

Back in the day, Florida Democrats were conservative and Republicans were even more conservative.
Now we have lesser-of-two-evils moderates.
His opponent in the GOP primary was Bill McCollum, a long time politician but generally a decent guy.
The democrat Alex Sink will probably win governor now, thanks to the Tea Partys choice.

You have to understand most of them come from elsewhere (the North East, such as New York) and bring their politics with them. And they vote.
