One of the biggest problems with women is their desire for "safety" and "security." Unfortunately, society can go exactly no place without people taking risks -- and 99% of the time it's men who take that risk.

We'd still be livng in caves or stick-and-mud huts without men taking risks.

I have worked for myself almost my entire life. I've started businesses and provided jobs. Currently I am starting another business. It might fail, but probably not. It will provide jobs.

In a sense, a lot of women -- and a lot of men, too -- are parasites. Someone else is supposed to take the risks and provide the jobs. If they fail, then they're a "loser." If they succeed, then many people think they are owed easy high-paying jobs.

I know quite a few women who even today, with "feminism," still think men are supposed to support them. They want that "security" but seem oblivious to the risks men take to invent/discover everything.

If we end up with a female world made out of Nerf, and little boys are turned into girls with Ritalin and brainwashing...then who's going to be left to create, discover, invent and advance society?

Turtle, you really should give the stereotypes a rest. They are almost always wrong. Race, gender, whatever.

Women these days are just as independant as men, as can be seen by the rise in women working and deliberate single motherhood.
I see women in the workplace doing the same work as men, taking risks, being competitive.
This aint 1960 anymore.

This is only true because of what passes for work these days.

Do you see any women working on garbage trucks or as bricklayers' helpers?

Camille Paglia calls them (and you) "grass hut feminists" and she said that any city you build wouldn't survive the first rainstorm, being built out of grass.

So much for "just as independant as men".

Helen Of Troy had a "face (and other attributes, wink wink) that could launch a thousand ships", but those ships were filled with men.

Women should be glad that men love them enough to carve a civilization out of a wilderness to make them comfy, instead of pretending that the things men do are just something that women haven't gotten around to in their "quest for equality" yet.

Yes, I have, and much more.
I work in the steel industry. We have women doing exactly the same things men do. They pull their own weight and "get'er done".

You and Turtle need to get out more, really.

The 1960's called. They want their sexist bullshit back.

Funny because I was an electrician in a steel mill and a Chicago Bridge & Iron plant, a company that builds nuclear reactor vessels and water tanks. And yes, we had women there too-in the offices. (And yes, they shuffled the same paper as the men in the offices!)

There were no welders, fabricators, diesel engine or generator mechanics in the shops of either plant-the work was too demanding for anything that could squeak under the wire as female. Hell I don't know any woman who worked with me who could even lift a mag drill to eye level onto a steel beam or handle a large angle grinder longer than it would take to soil her unmentionables.

The truth is any woman who tries to work in these fields has issues, i.e. her daddy always wanted a son, or, she is protected by union rules that "gender neutralize" the work expected of all and in the process drive down productivity to make women feel good about themselves, as was done in auto assembly plants.

A hot steel mill may be an exception because tons of molten product can be bucketed with overhead cranes-a push-the-button-and-start-walking-job; and beams are moved on conveyor roller assembly lines. It serves no purpose but obfuscation of truth to say that "women do the exact same jobs as men" in a plant where neither lift product unassisted by machinery.

When it comes to repetitive work such as stuffing circuit boards women excel, and it's very arduous work. (especially for intelligent men who get bored)

I worked on federal "rate" (prevailing wage) jobs ($29.64 hr) where any woman who applied would have been hired simply to appease the giant Affirmative Action money machine, even if she couldn't perform the duties of her job classification.

None applied.

Pulling in 4 conductors of 600 mcm cable (each conductor is 1-3/8" dia.) can't be done until the reels are lifted up on the jacks, (2 men-600 lb lifts). Hell, I was a strong sonofabitch and just pulling the cable off the reels to remove the coils was so hard that when I got home I was so tired my piss wouldn't foam. On every other commercial/industrial electrical job (200 electricians built MBNA headquarters, two were women) the women who wanted to keep their jobs just cozied up to the bosses and "served in other ways".

Who do you think you're kidding?

Unless the women you write about resemble Russian weight lifters the very fact that they were hired meant they were "protected" and any foreman who wants to keep his job had better not assign them to any task where they are likely to injure themselves or others. The unwritten "code of industrial-corporate chivalry" means "she is somebody's girl" and she is to be paid the same wages for whatever lightweight work assignment she won't object to.

Most of the workers in Wash, DC are women and many are secretaries who can't even type. They serve as concubines for senators and bureaucrats and are used as bait by lobbyists, think tanks, law firms and NGOs. BUT, radical fems are strangely quiet about women who exploit their sex to work for "touchy, feely" guys like former Sen. Bob "Goose 'Em" Packwood.

Now, why is that?

If women don't get the respect or the legal protection they "deserve" it may be because your mercenary sisters sell their asses to the very politicians who feel they know all they need to about "your true worth". And the butch leaders of "your movement" don't expose or even criticize those who sleep with men in the seat of power to avoid any "headachey typing and filing tasks". Hell "your lesbo leaders" will hire bimbos for the same purpose.

Why let "feminist principles" spoil a good thing, right?

"60's sexist bullshit" indeed.
