why are you espousing contempt/disdain for Christianity? it seems very uncharacteristic of you.
A) I disdain those who call themselves "christians" yet behave no better than any other big mouthed religious nut striving to cause hatred and anger. B) I don't worship a man, nor the idea of a man, as being God. C) All Bible "quotes" are the mistranslated excerpts of texts written by men, or deliberate hogwash written by men claiming to be disciples of a man who never called himself God. D) Thus, I feel utter bewilderment at people whose views I agree with yet who fall for such obvious social programming, when their minds are able to see well beyond that.
well, i agree with many posters here on any number of things, but don't have to be lockstep with them regarding religious beliefs. & actually, this forum has a distinctly anti Christian tinge, but i don't come here for religious solidarity so it doesnt bother me. why cant you tolerate a wide variety of beliefs? isn't that what 'liberty' is? i dont quite understand the hatred hostility, & cynicism toward Christianity here. i can get along with mormons, jews, muslims, scientologists & even masons. sometimes people here at 4um believe such weird stuff it seems almost pointless to bicker bout religious stuff. i wouldn't know where to start. i suppose you'd say i'm brainwashed or conditioned to believe in Catholicism. id say its a matter of faith. has nothing to do with societal control, other than controlling our sinful nature & loving our fellow man helps retain order in society.
Is Christianity all about slinging whatever dirt can be dug up against an actor just because he was a Jew? I think there is a lot of hypocrisy and hostility going on here, where almost every thread has strong anti-Jewish remarks and comments. I'm not Jewish, but I find it irritating when those who think of themselves as "Christian" do everything contrary to what a true Christian is supposed to represent. Certain people use bible quotes to justify their words and actions, yet the source of those words is from a book written by ordinary men, and that's all it is, a book, and it isn't anything more than that. In fact, the 1st half of that book is the same book their mortal enemies, the Jews, refer to as THEIR Scriptures, which they are. It's all so screwed up that people can be so childish and act no different than the ignorant societies that existed thousands of years ago. Myself, I can see the crimes of Isreal as they are, I don't feel the need to hate all Jews just because of the actions of the Israeli government and those Americans whose loyalty is to Israel rather than to America. Sorry for the rant, but I felt like getting that off my chest.
thanks for the explanation, i understand, browsing through the topics yesterday i too noticed jew this, jew that, jiojoooooojooo. i think that those who focus on that have reached their conclusions over time & are sincere, but it appears as some sick obsession or racial hatred to others. i try to understand where people are coming from. but i agree with you that love of all is always better than derisive generalizations of any group. an aside, ive studied the 'jew issue' over the past few yrs & it's quite the staggering issue. take the holocaust for example. i dont believe that 6 million number for one second. its complete b.s.! yet this would have me labeled an antisemite nazi ' by the majority of stupid amurikuns. its a complex issue. anyway, have a nice Sunday.
