Fox News Boss Murdoch Calls For Legalizing 40 Million Illegals

Rupert Murdoch wants “amnesty” for millions of illegal aliens. On Thursday, appearing before the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration, Murdoch said he supports amnesty for “law abiding” illegal immigrants. He did not explain how millions of people who have crossed the border and entered the country illegally may be considered “law abiding.”

Murdoch said legalizing illegals will grow the nation’s tax base. He declined to point out that illegals have instead imposed a net deficit on federal and local governments.

In 2002 alone, according to the Center for Immigration Studies, illegal aliens imposed more than $26.3 billion in costs on the federal government and paid only $16 billion in taxes, creating a net fiscal deficit of almost $10.4 billion, or $2,700 per illegal household. Illegals are a drain on Medicaid, food assistance programs such as food stamps, the federal prison and court systems, and federal aid to schools. CIS notes that although legalization would increase average tax payments by 77 percent, average costs would rise by 118 percent.

“I joined Mayor [Michael] Bloomberg in organizing the Partnership for a New American Economy because I believe that all Americans should have a vital interest in fixing our broken immigration system so we can continue to compete in the 21st century global economy,” Murdoch said.

In other words, legalizing a massive influx of illegal immigrants taking jobs away from legal Americans and imposing a financial a social burden on the federal government and the states is part of the globalization process, according to Murdoch.

“Our system of immigration, I think it fair to say, is broken,” Bloomberg testified. “I think it’s undermining our economy, it is slowing our recovery, and it really is hurting millions of Americans. And we just have to fix it.” He went on to say that legalizing nearly 40 million illegals “will strengthen our economy,” an assertion at odds with reality.

Murdoch said following the law and securing the border is fiscally unfeasible. “It is nonsense to talk of expelling 12 million people,” testified Murdoch. “Not only is it impractical, it is cost prohibitive.”

According to Californians for Population Stabilization, the actual number of illegal immigrants in the United States is closer to 40 million. However, according to James Walsh, the former associate general counsel to the INS, there is no accurate way to come up with a reliable figure. “No exact head count exists for the ghost population of illegal aliens…. Guessing the number is like playing the lottery.”

Walsh arrives at the figure of 38 million illegals in the country by calculating “a conservative annual rate of entry (allowing for deaths and returns to their homeland) of three illegal aliens entering the United States for each one apprehended.”

“Official estimates are somewhat suspect and may represent significant undercounts, as they are produced by the very entity responsible for the tidal wave of illegal aliens entering our nation,” explains Fred Elbel, a computer specialist from Colorado who is an expert in methodologies and data analysis. “Based on [my] analysis… it is likely that up to 20 million illegal aliens presently reside in the United States, with up to 12,000 additional illegal aliens entering every day.”

In 2001, it was reported that data from the 2000 Census and other sources suggested the government has long underestimated the number of illegal aliens living in the United States.

Philip Romero, former economic adviser to Gov. Pete Wilson of California, estimates that “the average illegal immigrant receives eight to twelve dollars in services for every dollar they pay in taxes, roughly twice the disparity found in 1994… Illegal immigrants impose a ‘tax’ on legal Californian residents in the tens of billions of dollars. Their costs, net of taxes, consume about 20 percent of the entire state budget, crowding out vital services or lower taxes for legal residents.” Subscribe to *Illegal Immigration*

FAUX Nooze, like Rush Limbaugh, is FALSE opposition.

Murdoch is part of the cabal seeking to collapse and then enslave this country. He is about as trustworthy as Jim and Tammy.

The High Cost of Cheap Labor

Illegal Immigration and the Federal Budget

This study is one of the first to estimate the total impact of illegal immigration on the federal budget. Most previous studies have focused on the state and local level and have examined only costs or tax payments, but not both. Based on Census Bureau data, this study finds that, when all taxes paid (direct and indirect) and all costs are considered, illegal households created a net fiscal deficit at the federal level of more than $10 billion in 2002. We also estimate that, if there was an amnesty for illegal aliens, the net fiscal deficit would grow to nearly $29 billion.

Among the findings:

* Households headed by illegal aliens imposed more than $26.3 billion in costs on the federal government in 2002 and paid only $16 billion in taxes, creating a net fiscal deficit of almost $10.4 billion, or $2,700 per illegal household.

* Among the largest costs are Medicaid ($2.5 billion); treatment for the uninsured ($2.2 billion); food assistance programs such as food stamps, WIC, and free school lunches ($1.9 billion); the federal prison and court systems ($1.6 billion); and federal aid to schools ($1.4 billion).

* With nearly two-thirds of illegal aliens lacking a high school degree, the primary reason they create a fiscal deficit is their low education levels and resulting low incomes and tax payments, not their legal status or heavy use of most social services.

* On average, the costs that illegal households impose on federal coffers are less than half that of other households, but their tax payments are only one-fourth that of other households.

* Many of the costs associated with illegals are due to their American-born children, who are awarded U.S. citizenship at birth. Thus, greater efforts at barring illegals from federal programs will not reduce costs because their citizen children can continue to access them.

* If illegal aliens were given amnesty and began to pay taxes and use services like households headed by legal immigrants with the same education levels, the estimated annual net fiscal deficit would increase from $2,700 per household to nearly $7,700, for a total net cost of $29 billion.

* Costs increase dramatically because unskilled immigrants with legal status -- what most illegal aliens would become -- can access government programs, but still tend to make very modest tax payments.

* Although legalization would increase average tax payments by 77 percent, average costs would rise by 118 percent.

* The fact that legal immigrants with few years of schooling are a large fiscal drain does not mean that legal immigrants overall are a net drain -- many legal immigrants are highly skilled.

* The vast majority of illegals hold jobs. Thus the fiscal deficit they create for the federal government is not the result of an unwillingness to work.

* The results of this study are consistent with a 1997 study by the National Research Council, which also found that immigrants' education level is a key determinant of their fiscal impact.

That is a point that has to be emphasized. Education is such a large factor in determining people's viewpoints, behavior, and reactions that it simply cannot be overstated in its importance.

That along with language and cultural differences is what makes the massive influx so disruptive to the nation. It has little to do with suntan and everything to do with education, culture, and language.

That is also why the elites are working so hard to destroy the publik Skool Systum and degrade the literacy level of the common culture in the United States.

It really has two important aspects as regards the immigration debate:

Ignorant and illiterate people are easier to control, because they know less, cannot easily access new knowledge because they can't read, and are thus more easily manipulated through media.

The influx of a large unabsorbed group into the society disrupts the culture and the lessened overall education level makes the two groups at conflict with each other easier to manipulate, control, and eventually "cull". It reduces thus the level of resistance to a totalitarian take over. That is why the elites despise the Internet and Home Schoolers - home schoolers actually learn how to read and think at a level much higher than is in the program for the intentionally dumbed down Publik Skools.

=======================================

It has been repeatedly proven that wherever illegal aliens saturate a local population, the LITERACY RATE FALL THROUGH THE FLOOR, and the CRIME RATE GOES THROUGH THE CEILING!

Los Angeles has the highest illiteracy rate in the country.

Good point. Illiteracy and Crime go hand in hand. The lower the literacy level the more difficult it is for a person, or group, to earn a living. We live in a society where success is dependent to no small degree upon literacy.

As well literacy implies education which implies knowledge, and that as well acts as a force to counter any irrational criminal impulses because people learn that crime really does not pay. Oh, you may get money from it but you will lead a very unhappy life. The old saw is true - money cannot buy happiness.
