Really Big Coloring Books, a Missouri-based publisher of coloring books for children, has come out with "The Tea Party Coloring Book for Kids." According to the publisher’s Web site, the coloring book, available for $3.95, “Teaches children (and parents) about the origins of the Tea Party and what it involves. A very pleasant song, coloring and activity book on Liberty, Faith, Freedom and so much more!”

Wayne Bell, publisher of the 32-page coloring book, claimed in a CBS interview that the book is ”not really making a political statement." Like anyone would even suspect that a book about a political movement had anything to do with politics. The Los Angeles Times reports that the coloring book is rife will grammatical errors. “Government is "suppose [sic] to use our tax dollars" wisely. Federal debt has "become a life style because as [sic] this will bankrupt our country," reads one sentence, according to the Times. So at least the coloring book will prepare children to write out the signs carried at Tea Party rallies.

According to a St. Louis TV station, a branch of the US military bought 3,000 copies of the book to pass out to children. Our nation’s military using tax dollars to politically indoctrinate kids should strike you as a bad idea, whatever your politics. More alarming, however, is the fact that crayons are not included with the book, meaning children may be forced to engage in the socialistic practice of sharing crayons. My guess is that the manufacturer didn’t want to risk the wrath of Glenn Beck when the conservative pundit found out that a brown crayon would have to be included.

The publisher’s Web site says that the coloring books are “manufactured in the United States with Soy Ink and guaranteed 100% safe against non-toxic inks, paints & dyes! We participate in the Sustainable Forestry Initiative Program.” So it’s a product that helps keep manufacturing jobs in America, reduces the amount of harmful chemicals introduced into the environment and promotes ecology?

This is a Tea Party book we’re talking about, right? (1 image)

Missouri is a state where many parents will buy this for their children. anything 'democrat' they oppose, anything 'tea party' they support. Glen Beck is a hero, semi-god. and so, they end up supporting war, death, incredible debt and the federal reserve.

Another poster said Missouri was a big meth state.

republicans, democrats, crystal meth - all 3 are about the same.

when you consider that financial suicide is in fact going on, that our government is participating in, leading this practice even, each year 45% of all federal spending is financed by debt, each year that percentage goes up. when you consider all of this and that our mass media doesn't warn us about it really, doesn't inform us, keeps us ignorant, when you consider all of this - the tea party parents who buy these coloring books aren't really such bad people.

on the other hand, I am skeptical and don't know of a real tea party leader who would like to bring all the troops home from all the foreign countries they're in as Ron Paul says and cut our spending on wars dramatically. the tea party people seem deceived by their leaders to me. and many of them (tea party people) are outright NAZIs when it comes to issues like torture, police state and war. Tea party people imagine that government can just cut welfare and magically balance the budget. our problems are a lot deeper than that.

In my experience most tea party people simply like to be deceived on issues like trade, money and war. Our trade policies are harming us, but tea party people are happy about that. Our monetary policy is ruining us, but tea party people say it is the fault of the poor. The wars are ruining us financially, tea party people don't care, their lust for war is high.

I can't really muster any sympathy for them even though they are not the problem.

Irrespective of who wins in the Senate or the House (or for that matter any of the local governments) there shall be no change of the status quo. In order to effect a more responsible government to the people it serves, the people MUST have a significant metamorphosis in thinking about how government operates.

So far, in modern era American politics and government, the people elect their representatives and fall asleep until the next election process.... meanwhile during that same slumber counted in years or decades ... the government has increasing amassed more power and authority while reducing individual rights, liberties, freedoms and dignity.

Self-government is a continuous process by the people not by elected officials that flash a happy smile while lying out their teeth with King's-X held behind their back. The people have let America down. The government (any government) gets away with anything while the people sleep.

I think financial GENOCIDE better fits. This depression and economic collapse is I-N-T-E-N-T-I-O-N-A-L.

I attended a lecture in the mid 70's and the man giving the lecture predicted then everything that has happened NOW. And I don't mean just in a broad sense as he gave names and specifics where appropriate.

He stated that the Rothschilds and their Vassals wanted to collapse the U.S. economy to consolidate their power and reduce the U.S. to basically third world status - although he didn't use the term "third world", but that is what it amounted to. The agenda is POWER and CONTROL. These people ARE psychotic and to them we are nothing more than animals that exist for their gratification and to be disposed of when they feel we have grown too many and too "uppity".

Everything I've read on the subject since has only served to confirm that lecture and we can see now, in the real world, that is exactly what is coming to pass.

The question remains is will people remain ignorant and go happily bleating into the slaughterhouse?

That was probably me.

I lived in Missouri for years, and actually like the place. Low taxes, low cost- of-living, kind of libertarian in a lot of ways.

you're ahead of most of the people. that is a heavy burden and I think it very reasonable if a person was to choose to cope via schwartzendoobies or RedBreasts. there are worse ways to cope - such as hiding from the truth, jumping on a band-wagon of evil, etc.
