Illegal Aliens Are Taking The Jobs Americans Won't Do? ( Immigration / Boise / Bozeman / Pocatello )

We've been told by "comprehensive immigration reform" advocates and and several politicians that illegal aliens take the jobs Americans won't do. Is that true?

what people don't seem to understand is that if those meat-packing workers were paid a little bit better, then this would not make a big difference in the end-price that we pay for the meat products at grocery stories. And if those workers had a few extra dollars, then they would spend this in the economy which would be a positive thing for our economy.

Which people?

you make a good point that the managers/owners of these businesses make the decisions as to their low pay. However, there are many ordinary American citizens who are cheerleaders for this process of low pay for work and illegal immigrants taking the jobs. I've read comments from people who say food prices would double if the food processers and farmers used legal labor. this is not true, food prices would not double, the amount that they'd increase if legal labor were used I think would be very small.

I'd gladly pay another $5 for a plaid shirt in K-Mart if it were made in the USA, by an American citizen. Over time, we'd save money in the long run.
