Police: Chandler man stabbed for refusing blood-sucking request

by Laurie Merrill - Oct. 7, 2010 04:09 PM

The Arizona Republic

A Chandler man was stabbed in the arm after refusing to let two vampire-crazed friends suck his blood, police said.

The man, Robert Maley, 25, of Chandler, had let the pair suck his blood before. But on Monday, he refused, and was stabbed in the left arm, police said.

He was living with Aaron Homer, 24, and Amanda Williamson, 21, also of Chandler. The pair are "into vampire stuff and paganism," the stab victim is quoted as telling police in the report.

"He had allowed them to suck his blood one time, but did not want them to suck his blood any more and when he told (Homer) that, (Homer) became very angry and stabbed him," the police report says.

Maley, his wound bleeding heavily, left the apartment because he had an arrest warrant for an assault conviction probation violation outstanding, police said.

Firefighters treating someone next door heard a loud bang.

"They see a man running with blood coming out of his arm," said Chandler Police Det. Dave Ramer.

When police arrived, Williamson and Homer were in the apartment, which was covered in blood. There was also "a trail of blood leaving the apartment," the police report says.

The two gave conflicting stories. Williamson said she stabbed Maley in self-defense because he attacked her. Homer told various versions of what took place, but police said they did not make sense and believed he was lying.

The knife was found between the bedroom mattresses. Maley was tracked down a few blocks away, blood still gushing from his arm.

After police told Homer what Maley said, Homer "showed police how angry he was and said he stabbed Maley because he was making fun of (their) religion." Homer said he stabbed him and called him a profane name.

Williamson was arrested on charges of false reporting, Homer was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, and Maley was arrested on his probation violation warrant, police said. He was also treated for the wound, which required several stitches.

"I've never heard of a case like this in Chandler," Ramer said.

The relationship between morality and liberty is a directly proportional one.

"The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country. ... We are governed, our minds are molded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of." Edward Bernays, Father of Public Relations

There was a time when this would have gotten you locked up in the ha ha house for life. Now we've been conditioned to look with despair at this kind of behavior and do essentially nothing.

that is amazing and I think true.

these people are obviously on drugs. It is difficult to sink that low without being aided in that process by drugs. Look at their pictures - on drugs. The police probably lose some respect for the citizens by going on calls like this.

Sucking people's blood is a religion?

Dionysius returns. But then, he never left.

"If ever this vast country is brought under a single government, it will be one of the most extensive corruption, indifferent and incapable of a wholesome care over so wide a spread of surface. This will not be borne, and you will have to choose between reform and revolution. If I know the spirit of this country, the one or the other is inevitable." - Thomas Jefferson

Either on dope or a few sandwiches short of a picnic basket. Either way, both conditions have become acceptable alternative lifestyles anymore.
